I personally would not do anything for 12 hours to allow them time to move BTC into the address (be it manual or automatic). There is still time to allow this 12-24 hours.
Just do the withdrawal and wait a bit

If you become desperate, I guess you could deposit BTC to that address, and hope you’re at the front of the queue… though, likely a bad move

Where are you guys moving your MAID?
I kind of hoped I could have my MAID on Bittrex until conversion to BTC, but that is now of the table. I don’t plan trading, so I don’t need to convert it to eMAID, but on the other hand I never felt comfortable dealing with the OMNI protocol.
I’m just using Omniwallet with 2FA.
It seems easy, though not sure how dependent it is on the Omni front end operating… e.g. if their 2FA system went down, not sure I could access my coins, so I should check I have some kind of backup (though for me it’s temporary until swapping to ERC20 after the Bittrex dump is over.)

You can also download full omnicore client as a last resort. I keep a copy of it on my portable hard disk and update it once a month to stay up-to-date.
If you want to do it:
- Have a hard disk of 1 TB which can have decent write and read speeds. Seagate Ironwolf (Red) works well.
- After experimenting I noticed if the partition is formatted to EXT3/4 you will get the best speed while being on Linux (otherwise you see significant performance drop!)
- Use the CLI to update, so point to your drive where you store the Omnicore folder. So that it syncs the new files there. You can after that use GUI which can be buggy when updating to new blocks.
- Good or Excellent Internet speed, it will take at least 1 or 2 days, minimum!

Today I just tried withdrawing MAID from bittrex again, it is not working. Says currency disabled. Anyone else having this problem?

On the app it’s saying “Deposits and withdrawals temporarily offline. Wallet maintenance”.
Hopefully that means it’ll be sorted soon.

Also worth downloading your trade history because once bittrex is gone so is your trade history with them.
It’s very useful to have the original time and price and quantities of your trades available even if you never plan to use it (eg tax records, proof of source of funds etc).

First: When you send the MAIDs to an BTC address, make sure the address is a right kind of address !!!. At least legacy bitcoin addresses work.
I have used Electrum bitcoin wallet like this:
- Generate the wallet offline.
- Back up the seed phrase.
- Deposit the MAIDs dividing them into a few different addresses.
When I need to send the MAIDs from those addresses:
- Send a small amount of BTC to the address I want to send MAIDs from, to cover transaction costs.
- Export private keys of that address into online OMNI wallet.
- Send the MAIDs where I want.
- (Send the remaining bitcoins somewhere.)
I always send all my coins from and address and never re-use an address. And I always do these procedures with separate old Linux machine that I use for nothing else. Still this is not as secure of a method as it could or should, but good enough for me. For safer ways to store, check the thread linked in OP.

You can use only electrum to send an Omni transaction without importing the private key into OMNI wallet.
The first time it may seem complex but, once you learn how it works, it is almost automatic.
For more security you can use electrum with two devices one online and one offline. The online one in watch only mode to generate transactions and the offline one only for signing. After signing you broadcasting the transaction.
This way your private keys will never touch the internet which is the most dangerous step.

Still nothing to report on Bittrex withdrawals…
No answer on support ticket (I also went on the Bittrex Telegram channel to escalate the ticket).
And withdraw still “pending” with no opportunity to cancel it.
Very unfortunate😟 I wonder if someone from the Maidsafe team could contact someone from Bittrex. After all, its a very quick and easy fix to just send some btc to the address…

Is there any reason why folks are reluctant to use the online omni exchange for omni maid? Unless I am missing something it seems to me this was and is a viable option here for maid until SNT roll out.
I’m going to ask this as well in the trading thread so if double posts are not allowed remove whichever one you feel necessary.
I believe you need to use OMNI currency to trade on OmniDEX and since OMNI tokens itself is illiquid it’s not used.
