Missed these posts yesterday, but this sounds impressive! Looking forward to trying later.

When I attempted to access the site, I was able to try and play the file but nothing seemed to happen. I gave it 5 mins to see if it were just a long loading issue.

However, it appears that the video file is actually on the testnet as I was able (Chrome latest stable build on W7) to right-click and ‘Save video as’, then play it using VLC on my machine.

http://www.davidpbrown.safenet - [Hello World].Babel

Very impressed how easy all this is!

I don’t understand why I seem to have spawned a publickey.davidpbrown.safenet that has no files in it… but perhaps everyone necessarily has that.

Note: could not edit the OP as wiki for the post then having too many users named… told I have a 20 name limit in any one post.

You probably visited Project Decorum’s proof of concept with that public ID. It creates that publickey for validation of any posts’ origins.

You can download and open in a text editor http://publickey.davidpbrown.safenet/decorum to view it.

I admit this is all very ugly, and won’t be handled like this in the real thing.

Yes, I did visit there but don’t recall doing anything as post. Still, that’s an odd quirk that looks like forcing content to another’s domain, which I’m surprised is possible even now. Are we masters of our own domain or liable to it becoming a mess of cookies and cakes gifted from others?.. and would that clash with a users’ interests in what subdomains they create?.. Is publickey one of a number of reserved names then??

I agree more advanced access control is necessary. Right now any app that you grant permission can do all sorts of things with your services.
