Hmm, I don’t know (disclaimer - didn’t read any details about this). If it is their own app that comes pre-installed and can’t be removed, and they are pushing updates for it, it sounds like something not entirely healthy to me. When forks are brewing, it is important that users can choose what software they run. Seems likely to me that had such a thing existed back during the SegWit activation, these phones would have been running 2X.
