Sorry. I have a bad habit of using the word “you” when I mean to use “one”. I come off as accusing when that’s not my intention. My indignation here is for the people who are jumping in without thinking about their privacy … then they tell their friends who jump in too.
For the same reasons facebag really ticks me off as well. I’ve argued with friends there to get out and join better platforms but nobody does. They seem to think the problem will fix itself - not realizing that their choices are the crux of the problem.
For the love of humanity people, stop using corrupt platforms!
I get it of course: if you’re on this forum chances are high you’re more privacy aware then the average guy
I’m not using Telegram myself and it isn’t popular where I live, so maybe the article did state more obvious stuff then I realized.
Ps: Fosdem, The Free and Open source Software Developers European Meeting this weekend (not that I’m there this year): FOSDEM 2023 - News (1 of 2)
Neil Oliver is simply a mouthpiece for hire.
An integrity-free bag of skin who will say anything that he thinks will make him a £.
Do yourself a favour and ignore this worm, no matter how much you like what he is saying - at this time. Cos next week he’ll say different if paid more £.
I’ve only seen a few video’s with him in them, so I don’t have a firm impression except that he always seems angry - guessing that’s his shtick. So I can’t estimate his motives yet. However I wonder at who would pay him to say that?
or he has sussed the long term geo politics and wants to be on the winning side?
OR he has pissed off everyone in the business and had to try earn a crust as a contrarian.
But make no mistake, most would not cross the road to piss on hairy Neil if he was on fire.
This is wild. CW is suing bitcoin developers to force them to patch the code to protect wallets (holding BTC 110,000) he claims to own, but lost the keys to in a hack
Likewise … if he really was Satoshi, then [according to his own logic] he was the lead developer and he is ultimately responsible for whatever he believes has happened.
he didnt sign any agreement that he secures the wallets from theft/hack and he definetly didnt sign anywhere that he is responsible of altering the code so that one guy gets his money back…
If so it would subvert the whole prospect of what bitcoin is … but regardless of what devs do, nodes would have to adopt the fork and they’d be committing financial suicide if they did.
