What’s up today? (Part 1)

Transcription:

Question: I want to know your opinion about different kind of DLT technologies, for example like DAG’s, there was some presents yesterday from Hedera for example; How probable do you thing it is that a newer kind of DLT technology solves the blockchain trilemma (security, decentralization and scalability) and is widely adopted in the future?

Antonopoulos: Most DLT’s that I have seen are permission systems or they involve federations of permission consensus players. From that perspective they do not address the primary aspect of open public blockchains which is censorship resistance. If you have known identifying participants in the consensus environment, those participants can be coerced, they can collude and they can attack the system itself; so I am highly skeptical of DLT’s for serving the open cryptocurrency problem… for serving other problems…(follows)

 They burned through $13.8 million in 2 years. Their token was $3.00 at the high.

We are so lucky to have the Ayr team we have. Slow, steady, purposeful progress, money smart.
It all reflects in the market price too, okay - we are not at the lambo stage yet but we are pre-launch.
Look at the comparison of the two projects from a market perspective. It looks like substratum really just rode the price wave of bitcoin, maid token is decoupled and has real investor interest.

The market action encodes the standard of the team, and also the support of a community.
Maidsafe is doing so well.

Substratum a similar project, but managed poorly.

Do you trust CloudFlare and governments? It seems a really bad idea to funnel so much through a single entity (also IPFS):

When requests are sent to the Cloudflare proxy, Cloudflare will observe your IP address, the IP address for the Internet property you are accessing, source port, destination port, timestamp and a token provided by Mozilla that indicates that you are a Firefox Private Network user (together, “Proxy Data”). All Proxy Data will be deleted within 24 hours

Anyone in the Gloucester, Cheltenham area of UK fancy meeting up to chat about SAFE?

We might start by combining with the Cheltenham JS meetup or hold our own meet if there’s enough interest.

Does this £8 billion bet explain why the Prime Minister has said that he would rather “die in a ditch” before asking the EU for an extension? Is it the reason why Johnson is willing to defy the Benn Act that stops a ‘no deal’ Brexit? Is the £8 billion any kind of motivation to prorogue Parliament?

Byline Times has approached Boris Johnson and the Cabinet Office for a response, but has yet to receive a reply.

Boris, caught with his mittens in the cookie jar.:rofl:

Did you know… There is no concept of insider dealing on forex so they can make a lot of money just from knowing policy decisions before they are made public…

Another reason to buy crypto, gold & silver.
Don’t let Boris and his chums devalue your purchasing power.

You have until the 31st October to protect yourself. He is expecting GBP to fall in value. What a leader!!!

Not today…

But worth a read. This particular bank banned its employees from buying bitcoin, then got caught for money laundering. Do as I say, not as I do.

I’ve only just heard of this guy.

Yang’s signature policy is what he calls the “Freedom Dividend”, a kind of universal basic income (UBI) in the form of $1,000 monthly for every American adult over age 18.

I have a gut feeling that this guy is going to be the next POTUS.

Though… what’s to stop the cost of living rising by $1000. Could you take that payment and live in a low cost part of the world?
