I notice the reference to 'Sentinel" in the dev update. Don’t know what this is and not sure where to look to find out more.

Yes it’s at the bottom of this post and allows routing layer to accumulate and check security and validity of messages before passing them up to vaults/clients. This is a part of figuring the language and core workings out, allows a huge amount of checks to be handled the same way and in one place.
