Continuing the discussion from Farming Rig - Intel NUC Kit:
Put a couple of those on a ZyXEL Switch. Then you can hook up a 4-bay NAS device or two on that same LAN. At that point, adding an owned modem/router that included a fiber connection would be easier to justify. I mean, at that price, you have a network architecture that can handle gigabit+ connections.
I would advise splitting up the NAS into several chroot/jails though.
P.S. Gb vs GB really annoys the crap outta me.
