The Grinch cometh for Christmas!
Yeah, this is definitely not what I was hoping to see while testing. Iām seriously hoping itās something on my end, but I doubt it. uploaded a different file, just to see if it worked, but downloaded like charm through both ant cli and dave.
since you posted first I did not want to be the first to post the bad news.
after the mass resets of nodes around 33% of the network in each go we have data loss.
would appear we need more or faster replication of chunks to fight the killer whale and his restart habit ![]()
We need to use PR talk.
We have āwondering chunksā because not all who wonder are lost. ![]()
actually a file that was not downloading just came back to life so ill keep checking and see what happens.
If 30% of nodes are cut like that by a single entity, team needs to asap remove emissions, period.
I was recently banned off discord by stating this node operator update script may not do anything for the health of the network, we need to be more decentralized first.. Now we do in fact observe x entity shutting down all of his nodes at once, circumventing the one by one update functionality?
Sorry to go a bit offtopic here, but when were you banned and by who? I donāt think that sounds worth banning tbh and if you want I can see to get you unbanned.
Ontopic, the team as aware of the issue.
Itās ironic that sticking with emissions as originally envisaged has been justified as necessary to ensure the health of the network, in the face of a steady stream of issues caused by this strategy itself.
Yet diverging massively from the spirit of decentralisation inside and outside of the technical, and and detaching from a community of long term supporters who are unwavering in their commitment to the original goals and ultimate success of the network⦠![]()
Iām glad they found another benefactor because I want the network to succeed, but so many bad decisions in such a short period after having spent years putting in the hours to help, has been very painful.
I still long for the time they worked with us. Or even talked to us.
As someone who has been banned from Discord in the past, I see it simply as part of expressing an honest opinion, rather than something personal or negative.

You were banned from the Autonomi discord??? ![]()
No way!!!
That is bananas ![]()
In principle I have nothing against it, there are employees in the team who believe that the project can only succeed if only positive things are said in the discord, maybe thatās the case, I canāt say the opposite, so I donāt take it personally. Either way Iāll be here long after those employees have found work elsewhere.

Disagree there, when your oldest, biggest supporters that stood over a decade have something to say, listen.
Chances are it is relevant, even if only to gauge sentiment and direction.
Well, I donāt think that everything I say is valuable or necessarily true, we all have different experiences so I canāt say which approach is the optimal one, let the master of chaos rule and test everything possible just to make the network succeed, if in this case that means even every criticism gets a ban, Iāll be happy.

Of course, thats true for all of us. Getting banned for it unless it is of malicious intent (I highly doubt) is crazy.
When people donāt know each other, itās normal for some things to be misinterpreted, but the good thing is that it was determined that there were no bad thoughts on my part and my ban was lifted. ![]()
Iām sure the same will be established for @blvd and theyāll remove his ban.
Check out the Impossible Futures!
He is welcome to reach out to me regarding his ban. I would have to investigate what happened and we can go from there.
Lets not make this about me but fix this network before Christmas
