Your FUD gets more desperate with each passing day.
Sad.

Some people like myself are actually running say 32GB x 5000 nodes or 32GB x 10000 nodes on 1 physical host… and yes its backed by real raw capacity available even if its not being used fully, because the day will come when the active record utilization % is much higher than today, though its a balancing act between active # of nodes and total data stored etc over time.
Note: My limiting factor is power draw for the CPU specifically across a few hosts, not actual raw hard drive capacity or bandwidth or router limitations at this point.
How much RAM do you have to be able to run 10k nodes on a single host?
I cannot check at the moment (away from home and without VPN access), but some of my machines have 1.5TB of RAM and thats enough for 10K nodes at the moment.
I don’t think she’s trying to spread FUD. When she’s on she asks good questions. It’s just that in this case the subject of big node vs lots of small nodes was discussed over several months starting about 2 years ago!
@jane A couple of links which might help get you up to speed:-
But there was discussion all over the place.
Or just accept that it was done to death a long time ago!
Wow! that’s some setup. I underestimate people.
Thanks for this @storage_guy I’m still getting my head around this.
