Update 10th October, 2024

Chunk Size for Default Home Network setting should be 512K, with reconfiguration advice note pop up LUT look up table to control other Chunk Size values that can be tolerated in the context of the Home Network setting ie maybe a full range from 512K to 4MB ,

where the latter has an advice note 'only if you have amounts of a. upload and b. download bandwidth minimum speeds guaranteed by your ISP.

Frankly if you are a safenode operator running nodes on a shared cable system (like me with Cogeco in Ontario, Canada on which I run 3 safenodes on my Daily driver MS Win11 Notebook ) using a headend Switch/router supporting so called fibre to the curb,

‘all bets are off’

as to what those minimums will in actuality be for your upload and download speeds during busy times in your neighbourhood or multi-dwelling building,

as MOST ALL of these Cable Operators are known to cheat during peak traffic periods and actually share bandwidth, where one will typically only get 60-80% of the upload and download speeds of what one thought they actually subscribed.

This is called over-subscribing the bandwidth and is exactly how these Internet Service Provider ISP companies cheat you to earn better margins (especially in mature built-up residential areas or multi-family dwellings)

So to keep your safenodes running smoothly

during peak usage periods in your neighbourhood,

I would recommend to the Maidsafe development team

to enable the node-launchpad in future versions

to allow the user to pick

a chunk size that is 20% smaller

than the ISP vendors quoted upload and download speed minimums to which the end user home network safenode operator has subscribed,

ie “enter your IPS upload and download speeds”

and have the node-launchpad app fix populate the fields with the correct chunk size for the node operator

To ensure a bigger part of the community of node operators running nodes on their home network have the best nano earning experience

That high Quality Experience will create

really high ‘word of mouth’

Likely To Refer LTR scores .

LTR is THE measure business analysts use to rate ISP and Mobile subscriber services…

Which is for public ISP companies

LTR is THE KEY METRIC determining the Stock price of these public Telecom players as

LTR scores are collected from online subscriber surveys done quarterly, and published quarterly by public ISP players in North America and Europe,

LTR Scores and their direction Quarter to Quarter (up or down differences in LTR %)

Accurately predicts for business investors in Telecom Service Providers

the actual % amount of subscriber change an investor can expect quarter to quarter between different service offers

Which directly historically correlates pretty accurately( within 5%) of the movement in Telecom ISP Stock prices given their Quarter to Quarter and comparison to last year quarter changes in LTR scores

So these Telecom Investors place their investment $$$ wisely to get best returns with minimum risk based on LTR score movement.

In this regard Autonomi Network is no different.

Autonomi Network is a type of Telecom Service

Meaning

LTR is every thing for Autonomi Network

Which means Maidsafe instituting a monthly survey get LTR scores from Autonomi Network Safenode Operators regarding different aspects of their experience with the Autonomi Network like:

ie

  1. Are you satisfied with grid tick box

Very much ok not really no

a. Safenode earnings
b. File Upload Speed
c. File Download Speed
d. Time to Start safenodes
e. Ease of Installing safenodes
f. Upload App Ease of Use
g. Node Admin App Ease of Use
etc

  1. What is your likelihood to refer Autonomi Network use to other potential Internet users to store their files forever to the Autonomi Network for a small one time fee?"

a. Very Likely,
b. Likely,
c. Don’t Know,
d. Not Likely,
e. Not Now,
f. Not Ever

Regularly Surveying subscribers (via permissioned newsletters, social media etc…) is a pretty good practice for Maidsafe and the Autonomi Network Foundation to consider imo.

Brave Browser imo is likely a good focused Channel through which Maidsafe could create greater awareness of the Autonomi Network upcoming launch and be used also as one way to fetch ‘LTR’ survey info,

as much of the crypto a ware and WEB3 influencer crowd do make use of Brave Browser and many even collect their token BAT, now up to about 80 Million monthly unique users round the world.
