i have a question… how do you can see the pages that you post here? like http://cubensisgenome.meltedego.safenet , cause i cant see that pages with the apps inicialized, sorry for my ignorance
Just wondering why it hasn’t found my other site which I made early on during the test when I reached my data limit on ‘krekc’. I made krekc2.krekc2.safenet
Nothing interesting there, but it wasn’t picked up by your script it seems.
That looks like a broken link
Both the url and the meltedego.safenet give
{“errorCode”:-18,“description”:“CoreError::GetFailure::GetError::NoSuchData”}
Mod appeared to move that post from another thread, so perhaps wasn’t put to Test5
If you’re not able to see any of the .safenet links then you’re likely missing the proxy… see Proxy Setup
Live links are at http://dir.yvette.safenet
except the ones I’m not aware of:
The script guesses obvious urls but in a very limited way… www.forumid.safenet will be checked but little beyond that.
Edit: LOL at those who will click www.anylink.safenet
oh thank you, now i can see the pages
the new spotify /that doesnt sound xD/
Very slow from here atm…
Registering new account is as quick as usual but authorising app is seeing a long delay couple of minutes+.
Launcher suggests pause around:
debug: FFI/mod/auth.js - Getting App Root Dir Key
Demo App initialising is equally slow.
DNS is slow too… local vault is not obviously chattering but perhaps network is busy or under stress?
http://music.token.safenet (few mp3’s and a unique HTML Maidsafe template)
Page opens, but songs are not playing for me. Probably a speed issue?
hi all,
given that this:
https://maidsafe.readme.io/docs/proxy-setup
is fundamental to the current testing and operation of websites lets get it out there loud and proud, why its hidden in the backend of using the launcher i have no idea…
for anyone new to this and trying to see their first safeness site following the link above is crucial.
rup
Also, I wonder it’s not automated on first pass of starting the launcher.
=> Check if a proxy exists - if not, then alert user it’s being installed; or if a proxy exists, get user to acknowledge it being replaced or offer some advanced option for them integrate it with whatever is already there. Given that the .pac is a simple format, I wonder wrapping whatever exists in the [if url is .safenet then SAFE else whatever was there], should work.
or if it’s more complex prompt the user to install the .pac themselves by launcher pointing to that abc link.
Destructive test FAILED
Which may actually not be a good thing?
I am sure the test had a result , we need to do a few more measurements here. Looks like it provided some valuable info though and limiting # of nodes per machine while the network is small seems to be a valid route, but lets see though.
DNS lookup was deadly slow earlier… then I killed my vault, which in turn somehow killed the launcher… which was a surprise:

Not sure how you (or yvette) are finding those sites but there are at least a few more than that. I have put up 4 that haven’t been detected.
If you don’t declare them and they are not obvious, it’ll be a hit and miss.
You’re listed in the “PublicIDs with no known website” because the subdomain likely wasn’t www; test; or hello.
If you let me know what they are, once, then they’ll be retested each pass. Given the number of PublicIDs I can see but don’t have a known website for, I expect like you there are many others with something there.
There is no route to finding them, other than guessing and noting when they are declared in the forum or elsewhere in some obvious way.
Ah, OK. Happy with one. The other 3 are (worse) variations on this
http://safe-blues2.jpl.safenet/
May I point you, Columbo/Sherlock/Maigret, to one fact highly relevant to the case. Earlier in this thread I wrote:
Subsequently, that address was silently removed from the list.
That address is proof that the list is manually curated, and not arrived at algorithmically. It was obviously collected from a [comment](TEST5 (AKA destructive test) - is now running - #61 by Josh "“comment”) by @Josh . Consider also that you have not seen published code for the supposed spider, that supposedly can sort “sites worth visiting” from those that are “too simple” as well as hopping over to the developers network (“stable”). Just general ideas. Ask yourself what this means.
By the way, everything codewise that I claim to have done here, I have published on the forum, or on Github: the scripts for the plotting (even if now slightly out of date), the compiling and the dockerfiles. I’ll continue that custom for the foreseeable future.
How very silly @bluebird
You seem blinded by some obsession to prove me wrong. Why is that?
hmm
It is quite obvious the difference… http://for.tune.safenet/ gives an error… why would it be on the list?
{“errorCode”:-18,“description”:“CoreError::GetFailure::GetError::NoSuchData”}
Check your facts and your attitude, please! There is no requirement that everyone does the same as you. I’m not aware that I’m treading on your toes, if you’re developing something similar, they good luck to you but don’t expect that the simple elements will not be duplicated by others.
