Ok your nit picking abit here but he is an inflentual bitcoin core developer. I dont think it fair of you to undermine gavins representation of bitcoin , but by the by i’m not here to squabble over job titles.
I’m just trying to get the truth and challenge my own believes by throwing my thoughts out there and seeing if i can get a reasonable counter to challenge my argument. I have yet to be swayed and if this is coming across tendentious, and trollacious then that was not my intention. I was just hoping for a constructive debate, but all i seem to be getting is that convincing gavin that your satoshi is easy and trivial according to the trolls on reddit. If that makes me a tendentious troll for not believing that then so be it.

That is not how he came across in his video from the time before. He seemed to love the attention given him and his “SUPER COMPUTER”
Oh there can be a number of them. One could simply be any advertising is good advertising. Costs a lot to run that private super computer of his, that he loves telling everyone. Need to sell time on it to meet the bills.
That is a very black/white view on what is going on. There are a number of things that could be, even just wanting free exposure of his his super computer which he sells time on.
Maybe someone “dobbed him in” and he is riding it for what it is worth.
And maybe satoshi is happy someone else is being fingered as the real satoshi. Easier to hide when everyone is looking in the wrong direction. But there are so many reasons that to try and tie it down to one is not smart.

You make goods points all around as you did last time we debated this. but it all boils down to how much faith we have for gavins knowledge and judgement. I think my faith seems to be stronger than most peoples and this is where our opinions differ. If i get presented with evidence that proves gavin has been corrupted or has been foolish enough to be conned then i will hold my hands up and admit defeat, but my judge of character is usually spot on and until then im afraid i have to stand my ground on this one.

Personally I would have thought that if he was serious about proving his claim then it would have been proof to the whole bitcoin community/world. To only “prove” it to a select few reeks of showmanship and if you are proving identity then showmanship has second place to proving it to all.
That is not to say he is or is not, just his methods do any advertising firm or news media proud.
Basically methods and body language work against his claims.

I see what your saying, he may be one of the best charletens around for all i know but the way im seeing all of this is that they finally found satoshi even though he didn’t want to be found. Craig was reluctantly forced to make an official media statement first otherwise he would not have sufficient grounds to follow legal proceeding of harassment claims against the press. I dont think he is serous because all he cares about is weather gavin believes him or not. After leaving Australia to the other side of the globe and still not being able to escape, he finally agreed to release a statement so his team and family could be left alone. It sounds crazy i know. I don’t think you could make this story up, the best case scenario is that he proves to the world he is satoshi and we can give him a well deserved pat on the back and carry on with a dedicated bitcoin super computer. Or if im wrong then the worst case scenario is dr evil continues his to swindle his way in to a hostile take over attempt on the bitcoin network or even worse try to kill the entire bitcoin network with his super computer some how. So if craig is satoshi this is a great day for bitcoin, if he’s not… then him and gavin are up to some dodgy stuff.
Maybe I’m missing something, but wouldn’t the real Satoshi be able to tweet that he’s satoshi and make the original bitcoins move?

Come to think of it, now that several people have been accused of or claimed to be Satoshi, perhaps it’s possible that Wright or one of the other wannabes is the real Satoshi, and they purposefully botched their proof so that people would put them into the “not Satoshi” group?

he could move coins and prove he is satoshi but the unfortunate fact it he doesn’t give a fuck about proving anything to anyone. i think he is more than happy with people thinking its not him. he said he wants to be left alone. i think the media should do just that. Hes clearly not the promoter type and doesn’t want to be the face of bitcoin. One thing that did stand out for me is there are a lot of claims satoshis coins have never moved but Craig wright admitted to selling some and said he is happy with holding his current position.

It does seems the logical question to ask, however if I was to ask if would you like to verify and prove the amount of maidsafe holdings in all of your wallets here and now, would you? I think its his right to have to some privacy, like he said he doesn’t owe the world anything, in fact the world owes him.
He had the spooky purple sigil brain looking thing running on the screen in one of his interviews. It was a neuromorphic AI Frankenstein monstrosity that did it.

All except he revealed it to a small group so the small group can vouch he is Satoshi.
So all your comparison is mute since he attempted to prove his identity by proxy. So why not actually prove it.
Also I am not claiming to be anyone and what I have is private. He is and the amounts are public knowledge. Two totally different situations and cannot draw any comparisons.
Why would you attempt to appeal to authority and getting vouched to prove oneself as Satoshi, when you can simply sign whatever he wants with his private key?
Also, if he “doesn’t care if people believe if he is Satoshi or not” and want them to “leave him in peace”, then why does he constantly attempt to “prove that he is Satoshi” anyways in convoluted ways instead of simply keeping his mouth shut as he’s been doing so well so far?
The behavioral profile is an complete opposite from who Satoshi was: someone who really wanted to be left alone, and stayed in the dark without even touching his stash of millions of bitcoins. Satoshi was very clear in his position: to avoid appeal-to-authority and to avoid ad-hominem attacks on bitcoins, he decided to disappear to allow an objective analysis of his creation avoiding any bias.
This guy whoever he is, he is an attention whore. Everything he does (and repeatedly he does it wrong), is to look legitimate while feigning annoyed by the attention. This is probably someone with a very low self-esteem attempting to feel important to compensate his impotent nature, or he is psychotic or it is an attempt of impersonation in preparation for some big scam.

Bitcoin as a general-purpose currency replacement is hopeless, but that doesn’t mean it has no use - it’s useful for sending money abroad and anonymous transactions.Prominent members of the Bitcoin community and its core development team have also confirmed Mr Wright’s claim.
His PR handlers have told me that “in the coming days” he will provide more compelling evidence by moving a bitcoin known to be controlled by Satoshi.
Wright is either a brilliant strategist and has something big happening or a ballsy con with an agenda. The more I hear the more I think the latter.

I agree, there’s also not a single mind in reddit/r/bitcoin that believes him. Well, maybe a few actually. but over 90% thinks he’s faking stuff.

If he’s not faking it, he’s purposefully making a hash of it (no pun intended) for some strange purpose.
My guess is he’s a fake. I can’t see any good reason why Satoshi would announce that he’s revealing himself with proof, then not provide the proof despite how easy it would be. I can however see why someone might try to get loads of attention, fame, and claim credit for something they didn’t do.
