I’d say Maidsafe easily beats most companies in any space in exactly those areas. I’d like to emphasize all three words: thoroughness, integrity and transparency. And understandably, all these three virtues take not only time but courage. It is indeed appreciated greatly!
What does the ED stand for? Just curious. I know of Elliptic Curve sigs and like em because they seem less heavy/bulky on the crypto side than say traditional RSA.
That’s just it. An elliptical curve signature.

Hi - thanks for letting us know. These things get checked and checked again but we’re all human and mistakes sometimes do slip through the net - unfortunately this time it was a couple but we’ll wont let that happen again. And don’t ever worry about being ‘that guy’!
Another great update, I can almost taste Fleming.
Thanks for all the effort.
@digipl nailed it, it is short for Edwards curve or ed25519
A quick update: we’ve now uploaded the Windows package for SAFE Browser v0.15.0 and updated the release. I’ve updated the orginal post too Enjoy!
You don’t need to wait any longer. The Windows version is now ready - just follow this link and get started!
Please make it possible to install Windows version of browser into custom directory.
Eric Schmitt, founder of Google, is saying he sees two internets in the next decade. One controlled by the US and the other by China.
How about a third internet controlled by the People?
Amazing work! Be well folks!
Hey this works really well. Great work guys and gals. safe://jpl
- created on the shared vault from the Windows version of the browser. I still find the auth process quite confusing but no doubt that will grow easier over time. One thing (bug?) I noticed is that the fast-forward button doesn’t go to the current version of the site but stops at the version before.
beautiful sir! beautiful!
And here’s safe//primer
- or less snappily safe://hnyynywst39dh3amodfkwuoq6fjsedf1scoh3ccyhc947o8j41pwsrfx6ybnc
- uploaded via the CLI. Almost embarrassingly easy to do once you get the hang of it.
Being dumb here as usual but when I tried to register dweb in the browser it seemed to have succeed but I couldn’t see how to upload files.
So I did it the old way from the command line and it obviously hasn’t created the name. What did I miss?
If you enter your proposed domain you should see an upload button. I think perhaps that if the domain has already been registered but there’s no site you won’t see this. Perhaps that was the case with dweb?
Thanks John, I’ll have to have another go and see what happens.
The new browser is so nice. I just registered the domain “sascha” and put up some text. “Embarrassingly easy”. That it is!
Better to be “that guy” than having obvious errors in a widely read public publication.
