Yes 100%. right now on (deb based) linux for instance apt-get upgrade
does the lot. Win and OSX will get autoupdaters as well. Electron makes this easy for apps (front end), but vaults a little harder but that is exactly the kind of experience we want. No command line stuff if possible.
and option for update via Linux repository would be awesome.

Will the Vault eventually get a GUI?
i know you, all you are looking at your omniwallet how that number is growing
Perhaps an option, but it should be invisible to users mostly. More likely RPC controlled from a local app or launcher. Itās really more like an apache/httpd server thing and not a user thing. It will have (does already) a config file and there you will set up space/wallet address etc.
I thought the original idea was to build the vault into the launcher and give the user a choice on whether or not they wanted to donate resources to the network.
Cool, thank you so much for the great work. Worked already very good the last few daysā¦watching at the http://the.odyssey.safenet
Rhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Dude Iām so Happy
Great news everyone - well done!!!
Been playing since it came out, love it!
Well done guys, really smooth user experience for me and Iām a tard! Been uploading small files quickly and smoothly, made a site etc.
Canāt wait for each new addition and to see how the various apps progress now too.
Happy day for humanity!
Thank you for the explanation, very exciting times!
*cough @Seneca cough all of us *
They may be small in their amount of work required, but I really think they can be hugely powerful in their impact.
I also am taking this to mean that when the Alpha vaults are available to us all, we will have TestSafeCoin to work with, and very much hope I am correct!
Seeing your coins (even if they are test-versions) stack up while you configure your vault, or use your app, and go away when you upload data etc, will be hugely powerful to us all, and newcomers, even if itās just subconsciously. Will make everything seem so much more real, and will help spread the message of earning money with SAFE exponentially further throughout the world in my opinion.
We really need this at this point, as devs and potential farmers and even as onlookers. Many people are coming to this from Bitcoin and the economic drive is one of the strongest ones, as always. Anything to capitalize on that will help the project like nothing else.
Looking forward to seeing this part of Alpha materialize, above all else
Amazing!! Congrats to you and everyone that made this possible
Thank you,
AndrƩ
Congrats all the devs! Amazing news.
Congrats to @dirvine and the Team. Nice surpriseā¦ luv itā¦ keepāem guessing going fwd .

MaidSafeU, an old idea I had to get people into programming for SAFE
Never happened, but itās fun to look back.
Iām aware thereās a lot of work left to do until Beta, but I really want to extend my congrats and appreciation to David and all the developers and designers and marketers involved! Seeing Alpha is live, my jaw just about hit my cell screen.
Iām a bit miffed that I came into work today and saw this. I will have to wait until this eve to play with the alpha launcher.
Waiting for the news to hit Zeroblockā¦
argh -.-" i wanted to go paragliding this afternoon ā¦ but because of these news (and because i had to work longer than planned today) i missed the windows of good weather (and light) :-/
anyway HOW COOL IS THAT?!
(especially the apt part!)
A video tut how to install with the proxy setting might help to have it on maidsafe.net (some people might think that you only need to install both files)
Congratulations team for bringing us Alpha, canāt wait for TEST 8
