Sounds like you are on Virgin. I want to build server racks, Cant run that on 20 up from home. Bare minimum would be 100, 1Gb preferable but 300-500 would suffice. Getting decent fiber in the UK is like pulling teeth.
Yes I agree, not easy at all.
I would also like some racks, but I will have to do that at a hosting site I think, there are a few not badly priced near where I live with nice fast speeds.
I will also farm from home, but on a smaller scale.
A friend of mine in Irish Republic has 350Mbs down and up on cable. I think he pays about Euro 45 per month and the package includes unlimited calls to about 50 countries. I’m green with envy 
while I have to struggle in Indonesia with a GSM sim in a Mi Fi attached to a roof antenna and it’s between 01.5 and 20.0 Mbs

Yeah there’s a lot of places that offer fiber connections now. Not every place has it though so if that’s what you are looking for make sure to check that. It’s called ‘glasvezel’ in Dutch.

i had a feeling from comments last week that the masses are starting to get twitchy about time scales… if there is anyway of involving people in the process more i think it will really help…
the time when we could run vaults at home was cool and there was a general feeling of excitement and progress being made.
i’m sure in the background wonderful things are happening, but from outside its now all about patiently waiting and hoping…
it’s doubly tricky as other projects of a similar but not so complex nature have matured a lot quicker and are now in beta or production…
basically… ugh!!!
