MadeSafe wants everyones money so this project can go somewhere…doesn’t it? For your information they’re called investors. Even if I had $2 dollars at stake that still makes me part of this community, so I’ll use the word ‘we’ thanks very much! What you don’t realize is that I’m probably talking for a number of us that too afraid to come on here and speak their mind. So if you don’t want the criticism get some venture capital money and stop asking us for more funds by dumping another 24 million on top of us to buy to pay for your wages!

You actually may be right in your doubts. I don’t think so, but not interested in trying to convince you otherwise, not with the attitude you bring.
We’ll know in the end if we’re right in our conceptions or not. We’ll even learn along the way. But if you think showing up and saying, “You’re all fools. Prove to me you aren’t,” is productive . . .

I think your argument is fruitless. Everyone here besides a couple of your trolling buddies that are either threatened by safe or have lost some money and are looking for someone to blame, are holding long on maid and the promises the team will bring the world. Heck what they’ve already delivered in their beautiful opensource github that is free for anyone in the world to fork.

Ethereum delivered and MaidSafe didn’t. Does my name and disatisfaction mean I don’t support the project or I’m some sort of troll? I’m on here because I’m worried about the continual level of over-hyping over what we actually have. So please, try to pull your head out of the sand. This whole community needs to stop pretending they have something more than what they actually have. It’s not I that promised to deliver a product more than 2 years ago.

I think I’m doing my job just fine… holding a mirror up to all this delusion over what we actually have needs to be said…again and again… and again. We don’t have a viable product we only have a POC. Test nets, Alpha’s are nothing but POC’s, yet are talked up like they amount to something close to a mvp.

I think you are looking into that mirror for too long each day; -) Probably best you offer substance as opposed to shallow posts that really do not show your best side. Your job may be invalid criticism (or trolling), ours is building. I know which is the most valuable.

I’m not a tech person, but I’ve been following MaidSafe seriously (reading everything I can, watching everything I can) for about a year now. I love the idea behind MaidSafe, and I’m optimistic it will succeed. But when it comes down to it, the main reason I’ve invested a huge sum (for me) in MAID is for phrasings like the above. If I were to respond to the quote dirvine was responding to, given everything I’d done and the for the reasons I apparently did it, I would have lost my cool and gone straight-up ad hominem. But I’m involved in MaidSafe, and have become increasingly more involved in some of the outreach work, because it’s frankly an honor to spend time around a community like this. I know that things will change—the private garden will be overrun—but for the time being, I think the MaidSafe community has challenged me, bit by bit, to become a slightly better human. So a sincere thanks to all who have made this possible.

Well said @dlux. I echo everything you say here, and it is the reason this community is so strong. Others have their strengths and we have our strengths. At the heart of this community are certain qualities that I hesitate to name, but which David both exhibits and attracts through a process like resonance, and which in turn each of us exhibits in our different ways, and so on, outwards and then returning to the centre. Like a beating heart. 
This is why when greedy manipulative people arrive here (and we are all that to some extent) they find it so hard to behave that way when none of it works as expected. It is why people who want more of what they find here, so easily become invested in this project and community - in a multitude of ways, not just financial.

That’s really very kind of you to say. It’s the community really and others do and will take my place in many more areas as we move on. That’s right, good and true to the vision, thankfully.
I think also think the communities strength is only just being noticed. We (MaidSafe) have a requirement now to announce some good news in a steady stream over a period to enforce the community. It took a bashing from trolls and for some reason a couple of long term members turned sour (which was weird & I still do not know why). We also had some folk with initial bad reactions/feelings to some info, and that was amazing (not they had a bad feeling, but we are grown ups and hear each others concerns), it was all good or perhaps better in the end. I must say it is good to be part of something where “good things happen to good people” really does seem, so far, to be the case.
I hope this continues and the good in the community are well rewarded with this determination to succeed against sometimes seemingly insurmountable odds with a very under resourced team. We also seem to be proving that this belief coupled with small advances, hopefully accelerating and growing the resources, does offer something different and somehow stronger than faster more flashy type projects. I certainly hope so anyway, I know for sure we did not start to come second 
Although if the vision is achieved I personally don’t care who does it, as long as it’s done right. Of course I would prefer it today and we always must try to keep that goal in mind.

Really like your way of answering that childish request @fergish. Restrained and resolute as always. I have to say that I have my own issues with positive cheering, but most people on the board keep it critical, this is what I like about this place.

I don’t know about you, but I’m able to connect to several testnets, both from community and Maidsafe. I can register a profile name/domain in a decentralized DNS. I can self_authenticate which is unique to this project only. It was never done before. I can upload stuff as well using self_encryption, again unique to this project, never done before. So talking about no working software is quite a bit off IMO.
