Release Terminology Clarified -- MVP?

Not really there is plenty of working software, but no full network yet, only tests. Surely there has to be tests, or will be be chased right up to the finish line and maybe beyond. I would hope iterative tests and roll outs are visible for folks. So I don’t really see the point so much.

I don’t think any of those folks have been around for 10 years. Thank $deity they were not Beatles fans and also wait 10 years for Strawberry fields  Or Tor, or I2p or STL, or … and on it goes.

We get it has taken a while and we know more than anyone. Give up 10 years of life is hard. It has taken too long, we really get it, but what do folks want us to do apart form dig in and work harder? It’s all we can offer and we definitely do that. Not one of these folks committed a single doc fix never mind code as community members in their roles as “professionals in software”. That makes even less sense.

I think there were different reasons why Daniel turned sour, the lag of time is certainly one. Recently I saw his Rackspace Developers presentation from October 2014 and got an idea of his frustration (in particular the part where he mentions how the project is just about to be finished). However, when he carried out his crowdsale he must have been aware of the fact that it will take more time. I remember that in these days there were heavy debates on the release of a roadmap an David mentioned that the MVP was close (I think he even mentioned beta was very close somewhere), people expected it at least the end of February.

It turned out to take longer again so that´s certainly one reason why people like Daniel turned sceptical, but in the end of 2015 it was already clear (at least to me) that things would take longer than discussed here on the board. I find it fair to criticize that, but it should have been a red flag to everyone who wanted to develop an app for the network. At least there were good reason to bring some extra patience. Also currently there are testnets one can work with as @anon40790172 and @dirvine have pointed out, so I think there is good basis for development (not the eventual product, sure, but still working software).

The main thing I don´t understand about your posts is why you are here. You seem quite disappointed (and as I said, there were reasons to be disappointed), but still you come back to the forum again and again. Given your earlier records here and on the Poloniex trollbox where you have been cheering MSC all day long it is obvious that you are only here to provoke statements about the development process to make sure when it´s safe to put your money back into SAFE and make profits. Then I can already hear you bluster again in the trollbox about long term investments. So, with all the good reasons to be frustrated, it really doesn´t apply to your posts. You are neither frustrated nor are you seriously interested in the project. You are just a bad actor who consumes the time of developers to work on. David is right, they can´t do anything but work on. You certainly don´t pay for it, so there is really not a lot of reasons to post pretending you just want to enlight people

Please understand David, the majority here knows that and is not complaining. I can only speak for myself and the humble role I’m trying to play here, but we are the silent ones not complaining that the coins we bought at 25000 satoshis are under water. We don’t complain that the coins we bought at crowdsale still cannot be used and are collecting digital dust in Omniwallet. We help other people on the forum, we jump into tests when they occur, we sponsor the side projects, we all do something small but important, and we are with you all the way and beyond. Members of this group are maybe less outspoken between the fudding trolls, but that doesn’t mean we are still the majority.

Please don’t loose confidence in that given fact. I think you don’t, but it never harms to say it another time.

LOL, indeed, @MyLegacyKit , in semi-desperation I’m compiling the uncompilable and testnetting the semi-testable. I’m even contemplating drawing that picture that i keep whining for (I figure that I will finally nail my understanding of SAFEnet by drawing the picture myself). I don’t mind any of this, though.
