How much influence does this have on security issues? The network coin?
For a noob like me it seems to turn things around.
Answered in the white paper.
The storage side is secure. A quantum computer or anything cannot decode your data without the chunks making up the file. One chunk is not the file, to decrypt even one chunk you need 3 of them. Also the encryption used is quantum resistant as well.
The keys for the network coin is considered quantum resistant as well.
is ETH quantum secure?
At the moment everything is Quantum compute is still a long way from cracking any keys and the whole finance system is in the firing line before any of us are touched.
I advise folk to sit back here and not jump the gun. If needed at some point int the future all assym algos will switch to quantum secure for the level of qbits required, much like the RSA factoring race a few years back. It’s still got years to run and it may never get there to be honest. We can simulate quantum compute in classic silicon now and there’s a lot of uncertainty around, but qbits large enough to break any modern crypto is a long way out.
AI and advancements there may be another attack t some stage, we just don’t know, but what we do know is that it’s not bitcoin or us that would be target 1, the whole word economy would go first. So we will get notice
