Public report of the ANT Foundation treasury

I can think all sorts of wrong things, the question is will we as a community have access to information on how the Foundation’s ANT is used?

Of course, access is not urgent, in the topic I ask whether we will have such access…

it’s dirvines project - the community decided to follow him and discuss topics on this forum with him - people decided to invest into MAID / eMAID / ANT because they think he’s doing the right thing and they might profit by investing into this …

… i fail to see why “the community” should be entitled to get access to the foundation he initiated for the purposes and with internal guidelines he thought would be right …

(if I create a foundation that has the purpose to support the network - do you demand to get access to info about that too?)

Oh I understand where the confusion is coming from.

I 100% trust David, I don’t trust the people who received those 2 million ANTs, we have a documented case where MaidSafe gave money to scammers who pretended to be an exchange.

I’m sure David is busy taking care of all sorts of other important things, so people with free time like me are left to dig around. Let’s hope it’s for no reason and everything is fine.

i fail to see why it’s any of your business.

As I said, I think this concerns all of us. You know that the project relies on help from the community both for technical testing of the network and for everything else, because the team is small and not well funded, so we have to help wherever we can.

You probably didn’t see it, but in the Ant Trading thread there were accusations of wash trading, and understandably the team doesn’t have time to respond to every single such concern.

After watching the transactions in UniSwap for a few days, I understood why someone might be worried about wash trading, as I pointed out to you, basically tens or hundreds of new addresses are trading with the same ANT, and I thought about how we could prove to these people that everything is correct.

The easiest way is for the Foundation to announce who it gave these 2 million ANT to. Of course, I don’t want to distract David and Bux from their important tasks, and I directed the question to Jim if he happens to know when and if we can expect information.

Then I politely asked the legal representative of the Foundation and after it was established that they do not have a practice of providing public information, I sent a request to the state regulator. There the information is either public and accessible or it is not, which I hope we will find out soon.

As I pointed out to you, I provide liquidity in UniSwap and it directly affects me if a third party has misled the Foundation and wash trade. I hope this somewhat long explanation is of help.

The regulator replied that they do not provide public information:

The practice of successful projects like Ethereum shows that they make public annual reports: https://ethereum.foundation/report-2024.pdf

What is the worst case scenario that you see going on here?

Like @riddim, I am not seeing what you apparently see clearly.

Can you be more precise about the potential concern

Worst case scenario, some people will continue to say that there is wash trading.

Oh hell why was I tagged here.
I just find it interesting that ‘someone’ is burning money and does wash trading ON-CHAIN
It is what it is, I don’t make the rules.
