Oh well maybe I was a bit quick to jump to any conclusions
Don’t you think they will just create some test coin which can be called anything?
Yes I’m absolutely sure too from the code just Was surprised I didn’t see autonomi there on the website … Because I would think if it isn’t registered it’s in danger to be taken by someone else (the name)
Ahh got it. Probably to keep it on the hush. Let’s not say anymore.
7k TXs - seems like there are some larger scalish tests running
512x bundled TX … 75 cents … for say … at 1MB chunks … 512MB upload …
where is @19eddyjohn75 when he’s needed? xD …
…for a first forum it might even make sense to hold a thread in RAM and communicate through p2p + store whole hours as snapshot blocks instead of making every post one upload …
no matter how you twist or turn it … this will be far away from the initial dream as long as we don’t have the native currency …
you’re right this doesn’t hurt too much … so when being able to limit daily TXs to maybe 20 of those … that would be 10 cents … that doesn’t hurt too much … when we reach 1 dollar per day it starts to really become annoying … (and in parts of the world already unaffordable I guess)
Is it just me? Because, as I feared, the Fees seem to me to be too expensive for regular use and put the network in a very compromising situation.
Autonomi can hardly be called ‘the people’s network’.
on the upside this means there’s a reasonable motivation to not stick with that blockchain-stuff and move on to the native token when it’s ready
and in the meantime we finally can see the network economics working (or failing )
This is true.
It will also be a significant step closer to the initial dream vs having no live network with the ability to pay to upload data.
Absolutely… it seems the network will be very expensive to use due to the fees until the Native token is ready to go.
Did Bux say new whitepaper this week last Tuesday?
If a chunk were 32mb max, and the store cost ended up around 6x the cost of buying 32mb of SSD space, if my rough calculation is correct, that’d be about $0.01 per chunk if storing 32mb.
So the fee would represent about 30% of the total cost of storing data… so while it’s not great, it’s not necessarily going to skew things economically to an absurd degree for storing big files.
Of course the cost with ERC20 would become more & more skewed vs using the Native token the smaller the file is below 32mb as the fee makes up a larger proportion of the cost of storing data.
Given how useful the Native token would be for small files & messaging / transactions etc, I really hope a solution is found for getting native token out there ASAP, even if it is initially only with a centralised bridge (e.g. Alt.co with a fee for the service).
And supposed to have been the week before that mentioned before that. LOL
We have to wait till they are happy that its bullet proof enough to release
The biggest cost will be to those who have bought MAID early so they could upload TB of files over time. Not everyone bought for speculation.
Yes, everyone would be paying 30%+ more, so those who want to upload a lot either suck up the fees, or wait for native… I hope that wait isn’t long.
Well 30% on current price of (e)MAID converted to ANT. But that is like 300% for those who bought years ago when it was 2-3 cents/MAID
