For what it’s worth @MaidSafe I’m very happy to wait for rewards rather than have you chasing two horses unless that is deemed best for development. That will be so awesome.

I wondered who the guest account was in our internal comms. I never equated it with the huge wins

To be honest, I think it would have been best to have released without rewards a couple of week’s ago. Iterative development would have continued anyway.

Now that’s passed, I agree that focusing on just the rewards path seems to make the most sense (barring some technical limitation).

It would but reward removal changes a lot and was breaking stuff. So rock / hard place, work on no rewards branches for a release or focus all on release. We initially thought the former was best but we hit a few walls and now decided to just get it done right.

Yes, it’s a bit of a balancing act as we are acutely aware that we’ve been building up this testnet for a few weeks now, but we also want to keep moving forward and not spend so long trying to hack in changes just for the sake of getting something live.

We realised early in the week that the message flow work was getting so deep that it was not going to be ready for today so we revisited the no-rewards path again, but it’s been wall after wall going down that route. To be fair going down that route has also helped us identify & fix some issues that we would not have known about until rewards was fully integrated, so it’s not all been travelling backwards, there have been some gains along the way.

That’s great to hear. Not all bad then. I’m in the camp of cool with waiting for rewards. That’s something really worth shouting about.

Cool thanks for update. :+1: Happy whichever way the team feels is best. Well done all.

Right decision. Keep on trucking.

Hi everyone, just a note to reiterate that last week’s decision that the best path forward is to include rewards in the next testnet means that this week will be a little too soon. Progress to clear a path for rewards continues, as well as work on several other fronts.

Full update as usual on Thursday.

A wise decision - and hopefully a few more days to grab some more MAID at a low(ish) price.

“If you’re not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.”

Im sorry but that is a vacuous soundbite utterly inappropriate for a project of this nature.

Possibly may have somr truth for a gaming or dating site, not for a project of this scope and import.

“Be ashamed of yourself for not realising the difference.”

I put that bit in quotes to demonstrate how stupid it is to put something in quotes to try and attach some gravitas to a vapid statement BTW

I agree. Just a thought that popped into my head. I’m already embarrassed by having uttered it.

I guess that means you weren’t too late…

Glad to hear today rather than tomorrow.

Love! No one cares what bitcoin is doing. This project calls the shots if done correctly. Everything else will fall into place once you feel it’s ready since no major reworking needed. Shake out all the weak hands because in times like this, only the strong survive.

Are we going to assume no news is good news?!

Well @StephenC has not yet been spotted on an expectation-management mission

Agogometer flickered to 8.3 there for a minute
