Testnet here we come
Latest: David just confirmed this in the update from 9th Januari -few minutes ago:
Yes, as well a scl → cli testing as well. So testnets (now) mean the whole network.
Everyone seated? The rocket is to launch ! We are going beyond the moon in 3…2…1…
That task board has updated fast! still looks like a little bit more work on node ageing to do though. Maybe next week!
When people(not Maidsafe staff) say testnets, they are talking ones running internally for Maidsafe’s to run soak tests and not Alpha 3?
Wounder if the solution to the issue with vaoults was found and fixed
Is it possible that testnets will not be published on thursdays updates?
Yes, still the tasks that were to do last week are open also now.
To be clear is it also possible that the testnets could be published on every other day of the week?
what are testnets?
Internal testnets are ones that the dev team use for testing and soak testing.
Other testnets are ones that the community can participate in and provide a broader test base
I think the nomenclature on this forum for community testnets is Alpha XYZ or better Fleming or Maxwell. From what I understand internal testnets are happening right now, but they will not be published. Just the results, maybe @anon40006692.
I mean the testnets where the community can participate
Next on schedule: Fleming
However, this high speed train has a few stations on its way before it arrives here and takes us to the promised land;)
Kinda, it could be argued that everything is a test up until launch.
But it has gone like this in the past.
Internal tests.
Closed group tests. (Not always)
Public tests.
Release. (Alpha 1, 2 or Fleming, Maxwell etc.)
Yes @anon40006692 public tests have come on days other than update day.
ok, didn’t know. thanks!
Really curious if there is progress with the vaults, in github the vault 2b and 3 has not been touched though, so might still be some problems. Lets see.
I think there is a lot of testing ongoing, so maybe because of that.
Its been mentioned to you before that Github is no good for trying to micromanage or see actual work being done. You are back again and the answer is the same as last time.
That is why updates are weekly and not daily or hourly. The day to day operations vary between meetings, coding, testing and other activities and looking at the weekly updates provides a lot more good info.
Github can provide indicators that something has been done, but by itself does not indicate if work is being done
Update in just over a day
