Pay the uploader , does it exist?

Thinking of uploading a library. Public access.

If that library gains much use is there still any payments expected.

Like pay the uploadedr? I know we were having pay the producer ar one point.

Im thinking thats all long gone now as a concept.

Just curious if uploaded public data is automatically " rewarded " at some point?

This isn’t in the current plan as far as I know.

I guess it might be possible to attach a donation address to some content you upload & receive micro-tips or something, but there isn’t anything like that at the network level.

Specific apps could be developed where to access the data a payment had to be made. And a payment given to the uploader. But that would be a kind of ‘walled garden’ and kind of goes against one of the aims of making data available to everyone.

In summary, my understanding and what others said above.

  • No plans have been expressed or suggested by the team for a long time, and V2 does not have any hooks to implement it at this time
  • Have an app people can use to access the content, that is like a web site, or stand alone app.
    • This would be beneficial to have a curated presentation of the content people can navigate.
    • As suggested above you can have a method people can tip you for the efforts you have put into it. Maybe even a “paid” section for extras.
    • But the concept of knowledge being freely available would favour the tipping idea. Maybe paid for a forum, or comments, or something like that which isn’t the knowledge being put behind a paywall
