just testing my first merkel upload ![]()
Hows it looking?
not sure if my custom settings are tripping it up but its uploading a file slowly with lots of retry’s ill dial back my settings for the next file.
if you want to try it out just upgrade to latest ant client antup client
upload command i used is this one for merkel.
ant --network-id 1 file upload -p --max-fee-per-gas auto --no-archive --retry-failed 0 --merkle <file name>
Doesnt need to more people upload at once to have successfull upload without waiting? If I understood it isnt official release yet so only few? People use it?
It’s official release just do a antup client and it’s all yours
Do you also know the command to upload an entire folder? Time to get some data on the network.
for a directory called test this should do the trick
ant --network-id 1 file upload -p --max-fee-per-gas auto --retry-failed 0 --merkle ./test
Cheers! Gonna play around a bit when I can find the time. Can’t wait to see more data on the network and push some operators out of Hetzner.
Looking forward to seeing the costs ![]()
my first merkel upload a folder with some random text files.
to download a directory this is the command.
ant file download 6b0eabb2dba3295d8d32b649980655d140a62f5c17c5b084fe980585c7e054e7 .
when i dial in my settings and get a large fresh file in one run ill let you know ![]()
I keep getting: “NetworkTokenContract(Transaction(GasPriceAboveLimit(60000000)))”
Probably something I’m doing wrong ;p
gas is high try this command
ant --network-id 1 file upload -p --max-fee-per-gas auto --retry-failed 1000 --merkle ./test
Thanks! Will try later today/tomorrow. Got family in law obligations today. I’m sure I’m not alone ![]()
What name will that give the directory or is putting the files from the uploaded directory into the current one “.”
It creates a directory named after the uploaded directory in this case it was called test
Figured I’d post it here too. But over the last few days I’ve been actively testing the network. Batching daily uploads and adding them to the last of downloads to test for data loss. Uploads are getting more stable every day since the last node update, it does seem like the network is starting to filter out bad nodes.
Also been testing downloads this morning, and the overall speed seems to be improving as well. I’ve not experienced any data loss over the last week. With already well over 30 GB of files.
Isn’t it beautiful? ![]()
And same for uploads, it’s going extremely smooth today. The amount of failed chunk storing as where present about a week ago are now nearly gone. Uploading 30 GB worth of files as we speak and I need to do my best finding any retries.
Thank you @aatonnomicc for helping me getting started with this, I’m having a blast! ![]()
I’m expecting it to go down to sub 1 million in the next month. And with Merkle up and more network stability, I really do hope that more community members will help upload some data to the network. We can now actively battle the overprovisioning nodes and put emission in the hands of the genuine node runners. It’s really a win win win
- Increase ANT demand by increasing node storage usage → increasing ANT price upload cost
- Pushing out bad/overprovisioning nodes by demanding data storage → Better network health
- Getting your useful data super cheap up on the network while doing so
