I’m thinking of putting a large advertisement (around 8’ x 8’) on the side of my premises which is located next to a very busy main road into the city centre and a large number of student accommodation buildings. I was waiting for the MVE and as we are getting close (I think) I was wondering if this would be okay and if there is anything in particular that should be put on the sign? I was thinking just to keep it simple

Landing page explaining that if they sign up to test the network, they get entered in a prize draw and we cover the cost of drinks at a local pub for a month…? Obviously a reasonable limit, maybe at the student bar.
They would have to visit a page on the test network, with instructions on how to enter draw?
Could insentivise people to download the browser and take part.

I like the QR code idea. Maybe just the logo and the QR code to make people want to find out what it is.

Mmm… Might be an idea to print out these as stickers, place them as adverts in local papers… Online.
The qr-code and logo should be intreging enough for people to check what they are.
Maybe it needs a tag line at the bottom…

Great Scott… 1.21 Gigabytes… Marteeeee, I’m sure access to that much data storage is available in every home in 2021… but that type of memory is a little hard to come by in 1955.

I like the QR code idea very much but after a second thought it might not be great to have a QR code facing a main road. We probably don’t want people driving cars fumbling with their phone camera while driving.
I’m hopping that the local student foot traffic would be more of a target, on foot, or on a bus top deck.
Hoping that drivers don’t really care that much about anything other than the traffic, and maybe they would ask the passengers.
Any advert on the road could be a distraction, I remember in the last decade, those bra adverts were blamed for male motorist crashes…
I say lets do it!

It does not need to be worse, depending on what road it is?
Just because texting while driving is not SAFE don’t exclude using a camera is not SAFE. It depends on what conditions and road it is.
But that question might be best answered by the person who knows the conditions.
I don’t think anyone will try to scan the QR code while driving. If they do, they’re first in line for winning the Darwin Awards…
