MaidSafe Update - November 2019

i already once was right when i said frazer is leaving and this time i think i got it right again, there will only be devs and david. no other staff, all other admin work will prob be outsourced

Seems I have been corrected by some one with insider information

This post is not entirely correct and has misleading information - see further down for correct info

Yea, once only though and remind us how many times you have been wrong?

And in fact David said it just above and you read it. Wow amazing. I was the one who misread it and quickly was corrected.

I wouldn’t hold that being right about reading something just above your post correctly, but are wrong about your other speculations of fear.

Look I have been clear that if I am wrong then I will happily be corrected but considering my thoughts above I think I am right. Speculation with out evidence is fear

funny, will you edit it out if David confirms that this is actually the case?
I dont think it will collapse, and hope for the best

So now you calling me a liar? I said above I would happily admit my error.

And to top it off I will leave my shame for all to see with a note above to say I got it all wrong.

I find fear mongering before evidence is hurtful to those concerned.

And to be clear firing someone and telling them about it on forum is nasty and you suggested it was possible.

If ANYONE tried to run a company on their own with 20 - 40 staff is foolhardy at best and stupid at worse, so are you suggesting David is like that?

no, im just suggesting that there is only CEO and programmers left nothing more. Im hope im wrong though.

Look at the evidence and context and you might learn rather than assuming the worst

Nadia and Dug had their last day officially yesterday. It was agreed only yesterday! They are still around. Many others are working notice, I don’t want to be naming folk here too much, but we cut overheads from Ā£160K to Ā£60K so it was a deep cut. Not all admin staff will be gone though. What is left is as in the post, Engineering based startup.

Your info of the internals of maidsafe seem very good, better than a guess I would say. You seem to know within hours of staff decisions being made, They also seem posted to inflict harm and cause conflict with people at a tough time for them.

I only wish I had the funds to pay Nadia and Dug. Great value. Hope you are blessed with something up your alley soon

So this was mistake to hire like Nadia and Dug?

You can look at it any way you want but it’s one of many business decisions that are made in a startup

Like a lot of things that happen in our lives. We are today based on our past.

They did not hurt the company and contributed a lot to the project.

Without all that money spent on the research we would not be able to have a product being produced today

Once the SAFENetwork is launched, I see a blockbuster Netflix series maybe a movie on this project, its staff, complete with maybe a mole, bugs, and espionage.

You would be lucky to have them in your company. There is a time and place, everyting has it’s place and at the right time.

I think that members never really leave the team. They just join it in different way for the benefit/conditions of the project. That means that the project needs right now just few people working at the core, BUT externally it will always need the support of key members like @dugcampbell @Nadia and many others.

I think the ā€œcentralā€ working units of the project will be less and less over time. Especially after the launch, the development will be more and more decentralised. That’s why I’m sure they will be constantly contributing to the vision, they won’t lose the interest for Safe so they will never really leave

Just to share my own experience, I worked remotely for about 10 years. 4 if those were working for myself, with the other 6 working for a company.

I found it a productive experience, with the biggest barriers being consistent self motivation and lack of work social life. I suspect they both pivoted around the lack of direct interaction with others. So, what I would suggest is ensuring regular online discussions, lots of pairing up, etc. This shrinks the distance and helps to motivate.

A second thing to share, was the cohesiveness of having as office, which not all attend daily. The latter of the above periods had this issue. People in the office would be more in the loop, the first people to go to, etc, creative a divide. Having everyone remotely working avoided this.

We used to all be located in NI, so we did hire a meeting room periodically as well as meet up at each other’s houses. The latter really helped to bond the teams, as you felt part of the family of those involved. This bread loyalty and friendship.

So, not all bad and I’d happily take remote work again. Sadly, folk keep asking me to attend offices most days of the week!

what are you saying they were searching VC with no success? how do you know

Every sentence of the post (now deleted) by @notsafeatall is untrue. @notsafeatall is saying this to damage the project, which is noted.

Anyone who has followed the project will know this, any newcomers, don’t take any notice - just follow and make your own mind up.

This project is exceptional in all respects, in positive ways, if you stick around you won’t regret it.

EDIT: oh look, @anon94252342 is joining this false dialogue. Back to form.

EDIT: that false and defamatory post was removed voluntarily, but it is evidence that some here will post false information just to try and damage the project. We know who are genuine here, including those with genuine criticisms and concerns because this is an intelligent, respectful and very knowledgeable community. Stunts like that are picked up very quickly.

Brand new account too.
Sockpuppets out in force to attempt to stamp down on amazingly positive community response.

Game is up. :joy::joy: We all know the score now.

Massive positive support. Loads of funds. And very fast development speed. Good stuff around.
