MaidSafe Update - November 2019

This all utterly baseless and demonstrably false.

While I don’t agree with the assessment of David and what is being suggested, I still do find it odd, as I mentioned in a previous post somewhere, that money wasn’t raised in a different way. Capital is the easiest thing to find these days and the suggested amount was sub 1.5 million. Just seems odd that to me personally that a different route wasn’t taken. A secondary thing to note is that it does feel that while Fleming will be a milestone in terms of progress and completion, it will no longer afford the price bump that we were perhaps hoping for because there is no one left to spearhead a real marketing effort.

Was there a marketing team for Bitcoin …?

There was a topic a few months ago that offered funding from the public (we in the forum). There was great support for this. And as the result shows, people like this idea more than giving money to people outside the community

With such a positive community response, a massive amount of money being invested. The energy is so positive. It’s so clear at this point, I mean, the effort of registering a new account…
There are certainly people failing so hard right now at steering the community sentiment in a negative direction. They are probability so pissed right now.

Anyone else laughing their ass off?

Bravo maidsafe. Keep doing what you are doing.

I never got to see this, I now kinda feel left out  Anyway I can guess as it seems like fuddy stuff, reading between the lines.

Yeah, this is what I’ve started to do, and I think it’s useful in a lot of ways. Hope to continue. But it is certainly more work than just writing the dev update, so likely won’t be weekly.

How many aliases can one person have?

IMO this was an awesome route and a wonderful choice by Maidsafe. They are rewarding token holders who have been very patient all these years as opposed to rewarding some nameless VC’s.

I’m really amazed at the very idea in fact - never occurred to me as an option, but very pleased that they have done it this way.

It’s a great big thank you from Maidsafe to the community in my opinion.

Capital is available but with VC’s you have to sell your soul

It’s what happens when such a bright light shines on complete fabrication.

They are running scared.

Question is… why even bother to attempt to derail and FUD this project.

Having a good laugh about this now.

When you start bringing in VCs, they start to dictate the program. Raising money from the community allows the team to retain control and direction.

Moreover, once Fleming is out in the wild, the valuation of the company will greatly exceed the current valuation, IMO. Selling cheap, with onerous strings attached, is probably not the best course of action.

Had the community funding failed, I suspect other avenues would have been pursued. However, it was a runaway success, which was over funded within a few hours. I’ll take that as a strong positive, personally.

I did manage to read it (clicking on the edit thing). Yes quite a story, I recon the last thing I do is hide. I meet investors, staff and more when possible. I never have anything to hide so these folk take your strength (openness and honesty) and state the 100% opposite to be true while hiding behind an anonymous account. Entertaining anyway.

The reason I missed the posts was that I was actually on the phone discussing doing a meeting via hangout in the next few weeks to allow folk to ask any questions about the project etc. So it’s doubly funny

Ahhhh. The benefits of a perpetual Web.

Anyone not read the comments, click on the edit thingy. You’ll see why the post was withdrawn by the poster, such a type of comment stinks of panic and desperation - they recognized this and tried to remove it. Their hand has been shown, the cards are on the table. The game is up.

If you can’t undermine the idea, the project, the funding status or the community spirit, the last stand one can make is to slander the man and throw dirt.

Maidsafe is doing all the right things, and the past 24 hours were a little difficult to digest at first, but we have all come out shining soooo bright.

:joy::joy::joy: I’m very happy how it’s all turned out.

haha, it’s in fact the best time to invest. Not much to lose, a lot to win.

wow Dave, what a thing.
I hope you do well. I still think the whole idea is super and you’ve come so far.
You have come to learn and understand so much, i hope the whole thing lives in your heart and head and will come to reality soon. We here from the other side are all still curious to internet 2.0 and as you put: true this can begin with products. too much money has been invested in too little results and hopes for big money. i think big money can come… eventually, but that can be far away. first have something for people to play around with and present it on Max Keiser.

I guess most of us can stick around and with a bit a kick in the butt we (the community) can market a bit. what that concerns: if product> you already have a fanbase

strength and focus and back to basics. peace

@dugcampbell is so rad. Founded a bitcoin meetup and became the COO of MaidSafe in the span of just a few years. Who does that?
