We’re very open about the moderation that takes place and almost every related project gets discussed here without moderation as long as people don’t cross the guidelines which obviously goes for every subject.
Please continue these discussion in META because we might be suspected of censorship when we keep changing the subject . And yes that was a joke.
Except when you don’t even check github to validate a claim.
Then you have to walk it back.
Manipulators gotta manipulate. I will not allow you to exploit the moderators
on this forum who are always careful not to scare away differentiating opinions.
I oppose your nonsense, because you attempted to pass off your poorly crafted position as
a legitimate concern by exploiting the fact that you once developed for MAIDsafe.
You want to come here and insult core developers and this community.
Then get upset because I won’t have it, and now you’re trying to play the victim card.
Now you’re upset because instead of begging you for salvation, we dont need it.
I don’t buy what you’re selling and I doubt anyone else on here does either.
I find it a strange saying: ‘drawing the line in the sand’.
Drawing the line, ok, but the addition ‘in the sand’…
It’s easy to erase that line. Like they say in Dutch: ‘zand erover’ (same meaning as “water under the bridge”).
What needs to be done (obviously) is making sure that the developers of the SAFEnetwork have ressources to finish the vision. We shouldn´t insinuate the easiest solution is the best one.
I agree with @benjaminbollen with regard to burning the coins. At this point it really looks like clutching at straws. I have already mentioned that it would be a fair decision due to the fact that the existance of these coins have been well known and people stayed here/didn´t sell their coins. That is some kind of appoval for there is no other reason in keeping these coins than using them at some point, isn´t it?
On the other side, what I dislike about the proposal is that it doesn´t look deliberate. I really wonder whether selling the coins will generate sufficient funds to ensure Maidsafe is able to work till it can exist self-sustaining.In the history of the SAFE project many unforseen things happened, why shoudln´t they happen in the future? The original blog post doesn´t contain any information on what is the estimated(!) amount of financial ressources to reach the needed milestones, what scaling exactly means, how much the burn rate will be in the future… I hear the objection that this is too much unneeded stuff and keeps prople from the actual work. I personally think these are crucial aspects for a fair judgement on whether selling the coin is a commendable strategy or whether other options should be favored.
Then again, as I have said repeatedly, legally we have anything to say in this process even though it is supposedly a community project. It is totally up to them and I don´t see how selling the coins will cause legal issues. In my opinion it wouldn´t speak for the project though…
Your every post is a perpetual act of vulgarity. Your hubris is revolting. Your claim that Dirvine was “stealing from the community”. Was a great insult to me… I don’t know where everyone else stands.
You thought this community was your maiden in distress, and you could just ride on in here shirtless
and sweep us away like some kind of romance novel my grandmother reads.
Now you’re upset because instead of finding a sweet tender young maiden.
You have come to find out we’re more like 6’4" 230 pound strong man with excessive back hair.
Yes, we don’t need protecting or to be told your opinions on the facts that we are already aware of. Keep the subjective stuff out of it imo, we’re all quite capable of making our own judgements about how things have been handled up to this point and we vote with our $s. Let’s deal with the objective facts and thrash out your technical misgivings with david and the community in that thread. I don’t see any reason to carry on the derail in here?
Yes please do go to that routing thread and make arguments there on my technical misgivings. I will be very happy to be proven wrong. If other people want to continue expressing their revolt about my post, then please keep doing that here so that the technical thread is not drowned out.
I’m getting pretty tired of you constantly trying to guide how we respond or how we should respond.
I’m done with this conversation I made my sentiments known and I know i’m not alone. I would love it if you proved me wrong and actually contributed something to this project besides your failed “routing” code that had to be improved on all those months ago.
did i miss something or didn’t you avoid giving a precise answer because you don’t have time …?
sorry ben - i like you - but you really are not helping here today … maybe you should get some sleep and first digest the current developments Oo … to me it sounds like you are upset because of those coins being used (what i personally think is an excellent idea) and now you are trying to “get the project back on the right track” within an hour …
Hey, you can’t come in here and accuse the boss of stealing and then act like a shrinking violet when the community defend him by attacking the obvious show of ego in your post. If you’d left your subjective judgement out of that post we’d be fine. We know about the coins, most don’t seem to think it’s stealing, we don’t need your protection just because you spent a year in Troon. I suggest you just ignore this thread an focus on the other one, since that’s more interesting than subjective judgements about the move to sell the extra coins.
yo ben, i’m happy that you’re back on the forum. you’re one of the very few people out there who can really help drive this baby forward. but you need to stop questioning the leadership here. seeing how far this project has come should make us all (urself included) very confident that the right decisions are being made by the right people.
Just so you know your actions do cause very many people huge life problems. I dont blame anyone but myself but your actions have caused me life changing issues… Not good … again its my fault. Just thought you should know. No reply is necessary … It’s too bad to talk about here.
What I am saying is the obvious: company decisions like these are not made in a legal vacuum and it seems very likely that eventually this situation will come under public scrutiny. Crypto-currency land might currently look like the wild-wild-west, but I have and would recommend more careful threading, for their own sake.
I really don’t feel like I’m saying anything surprising here.
