I just get frustrated when he puts down my ideas without giving some reasons. It makes me feel like I’m being attacked, not my arguments.
I don’t think it’s anything really deep or psychological, I just want to have my thoughts taken seriously, like any other forum member.
@Artiscience the main points that I feel were put down by you without specific arguments were:
the possibility that down the line most financial institutions that revolve around fiat like the Fed and World Bank etc could get replaced by SafeCoin if SAFE really takes off like we’re all hoping for
the financial effects SAFE & farming could have on the world population towards fixing the 1% vs 99% problem, since it changes the whole internet and government paradigm from being run by mega-corporations to being run by SAFE apps that distribute 90% of all revenue to farmers around the world. Specific mega-corporations whose business models are directly vulnerable to mass-adoption of SAFE include Google, FB, eBay, and the others I mentioned.
These are thoughts for the future, and just because they haven’t 100% materialized yet doesn’t mean we can’t explore / discuss them.
I´m sorry that you feel attacked personally. I don´t know you and it´s not up to me to judge what kind of person you are. I can and will only comment your comments and if I believe that they are megalomaniac, non-serious or highly ideological I will state that. That doesn´t mean I am not taking you serious as a person. I just don´t think its productive to act and have discussions based on Potyomkin villages and that´s how I see the commented posts.
It´s possible that we´re dealing with a communication problem, because your way to post “thoughts for the future” have the form of predictions and promises of salvation. Just to quote a few:
Actually in my comment I explained quite clearly why I find your cheering insubstantial and counter-productive, I don´t feel like explaining it over and over again. It is obvious that you´re excited by the idea and potential of how SAFE COULD work if there was a release, but a) it´s not offensive if I call that excitement premature and b) it´s also not offensive to point out that mere promises of salvation solely based on technology keep us from working on the obvious challenges. It´s just my opinion on what you wrote. I don´t see why SAFE - if released - will be a sure-fire success. Any product is. SAFE doesn´t change anything, people may or may not do it. Before we claim that SAFE will replace Facebook, I´d suggest to discuss thoughts/concepts how this could take place and what the challenges will be.
I just strongly feel that it’s important to keep the positive possibilities in mind, and all the ones I mention are very real and practical. For example, a social network on SAFE is much easier than the building of Facebook was, because no huge corporations or data centers have to be organized, just code has to be typed ( <— and please don’t go off on that point, I am aware on how much work and money goes into professional CMS systems but my point still stands).
Nobody ever got anything done without inspiration. I don’t understand the value in shooting it down so hard.
I agree we need to be practical in every step, but I also know people need inspiration and vision to keep going, especially with the huge, world-changing possibilities SAFE opens.
Please tell me how any of these things are impossible or impractical, because I haven’t heard any concrete reasons yet.
I don’t dislike you or anyone on here, I’m extremely glad to have everyone here. This forum started off so small. I just don’t understand what you’re doing
keeping positive possibilities in mind to me is something different than plainly prediciting what is going to happen, e.g.
“SAFE replaces all those BILLION dollar companies across every sector of the economy … AND the economy will grow exponentially with the possibilities it opens…”
It´s not my job to prove how your dreams are NOT going to become true, particularly since I never stated that there is any way it is ever going to happen. Traveling at light speed may be possible in the future, maybe Jesus Christ returns, who knows? I wouldn’t say its impossible either. I have no crystal ball, do I? I said that promises like the above are megalomaniac and non-serious and provided arguments why I think so (btw. you can make promises withou using the word “promise”). If you don´t see them, maybe reread my posts.
Anyway, let´s leave it here, I think we´re way off-topic. If you have any concerns send me a message.
