Lecture 2 - The SAFE Network from First Principles (French Version)

Location: Bitcoin Embassy (3485 Boulevard Saint-Laurent, Montreal, QC)

@erick will present Lecture 2 again, but this time in French.

A few people told us at the end of the last event that it would have been easier for them to understand the lecture if it had been presented in French. We think it’s a good idea. If this event is successful, it’s likely we will do more events in French in the future.

If you haven’t seen Lecture 1, you can watch it on Youtube.

This is the last event with Erick before he leaves for Europe until the end of April. We will continue producing lectures in the form of screencasts in the meantime.

Crowdfunding campaign

As you can see, parts of Lecture 2 have already been released on Youtube. The rest will be released at the end of the crowdfunding campaign for Lecture 2. If you contribute to the campaign, you will get privileged access to the unreleased videos of Lecture 2 as soon as the tilt (1000$) is reached.

7:00 PM Arrive before the lecture starts and meet other SAFE Enthusiasts

7:15 PM Erick’s lecture (you can ask questions during the presentation)

8:15 PM Question period

8:30 PM - 9:00 PM Stay around to talk with other SAFE Enthusiasts

Erick Lavoie is a Ph.D student in computer science at McGill University. He is currently interested in leveraging end-user computational resources, in the form of storage, bandwidth, and computational power to solve important scientific and engineering problems. Concretely, he is building a peer-to-peer infrastructure using web technologies for running distributed MATLAB code.

This Series of Talks

The goal of this series of talks is to introduce all the core ideas and algorithms behind the SAFE Network in a technical yet intuitive and accessible manner.
