** It is very important for the network that you are using auto upgrade if you are on MacOS/Linux. **
Please can someone explain how to do that here for non discord users. Thx

If you are on Linux/MacOS then ensure you are on the previous version to the latest. That is the version most people are on now and is being upgraded to the new one. IE you need to be on ver 0.4.10 and then the autoupgrade feature will work and upgrade you to the latest ver 0.4.11
The message is more for the ultra large users who are also managing their own nodes in ways that cannot really be programmed for in the autoupdate. Most large node runners running their nodes in more standard ways are typically covered by the autoupgrade feature in the node software
It appears that on the privacy by design, decentralised Autonomi network, the only way to get key information about it is to use a proprietary service that gathers and uses data for its commercial purposes, and is known to leak data about its users.
Iāve asked multiple times for comment on the privacy side of Autonomiās latest design but no response has been made. Is it because Iām the person asking or is it no longer something that is being prioritised? IDK ![]()
Using Discord is an embarrassingly bad platform to use for this, esp when there are multiple good open source alternatives. I notice also that the word āanonymityā has been removed from the website in the new redesign. Seems privacy is not going to be a feature of this network. But then that went out of the window anyway when we were forced to use 3rd party apps, wallets and exchanges (all of which have poor design/ security issues and/or shady owners).. Iāve tried earning tokens, that doesnāt work. It feels hopeless now, I canāt find much reason to care about the network if I canāt actually use it.
I agree on the thrust of what you say, and for interest people should know that Discord is selling out having filed for IPO and IMO should get out before the enshitification accelerates. This is Facebook yet again, or worse Twitter which is literally a CSAM maker and publisher now.
Please letās stop supporting billionaires who do not care about the damage they do to us, and millions of others.
But why canāt you earn? Do you mean earn from home? Anyone can earn using a VPS and people here will help. Not what we want of course so I understand if you donāt want to do that.
I have not been able to earn from running a single 35gb node for 3 weeks. Not a single attos. Which means I canāt upload anything without purchasing ants -which I donāt want to do for all sorts of reasons as Iāve explained before. I want to test this network from a normal user perspective, people should not be expected to run dozens of nodes for weeks to earn enough to do an upload test of 1mb - not least because its bad for the network - and because that is not the claim being made by autonomi -that ordinary folk can use old hardware and even phones to give away spare storage. None of them will be able to contribute meaningfully to the network, and they wonāt feel they are either if they canāt earn even enough to upload even small amounts of data. Marketing the network will be very difficult under this circumstance.
Have you asked for help here? Iām not sure how quickly a single node will earn, but there might be some setup or version issue as well, and if you seek help maybe that can be sorted.
Have you tried running more then 1 node? I would not find it unusual that 1 node did not earn over the course of 3 weeks. Many of the people consistently earning are running 100 or 200 nodes (or even more).
Yes we want ordinary people to be able to run nodes and earn, even off of a cellphone. This will all take time and development.
Yes indeed. Needs repeated loud and often.
Too many people want the moon on a stick - and for freeā¦
A lot of people had to work (hard) for the money they spent on the token under the impression the launch of anonynous, fully decentralized network was ācloseā, thus funding its development.
Implying those who have waited twelve years (for this) are impatient, parasitic moonboys underlines your bubble has flown off and away.
Have you ever thought of running nodes or doing something useful and give that yapping piehole some rest?
Running a puny node setup now is about as useful as talking rubbish to Southside like you did for years ā only the latter actually takes a toll on you, as proven by your late shtick.
As a well behaved fella, let me answer your question: no, I donāt currently run any nodes. Because itās as useless as your idea of usefulness.
You writing negative things most of the time, things that are not fully correct.
It is very useful running nodes right know because it helps defend the network.
Yes yes. Reality very negative when āknock knockā on the skull of a blindly loyal whoās spent a decade in a place where unreasonable cheeerfulness got normalized as healthy.
Which has nothing to do with me, so please, donāt let me interrupt you from being useful ![]()

I am about to start a 9Gb upload of some important archival material.
Any advice from those who have successfully completed large uploads recently would be appreciated.
Is it a single 9GB file or are it separate files combined 9GB?
If a single file, youāre probably going to need to initiate upload several times. If itās multiple smaller files and you donāt mind the cost being slightly higher, you can loop through every file and start its own uploads goās much faster.
Why not zip them into 1GB files, there are zip functions to join files like ghj.zip-part1, ghj.zip-part2, so only have to loop through 1GB files and then the same if downloading and just choose join and you get 1 single zip file again.
Its a wordpress site with 20k+ sub-dirs totalling 8.9Gb
Speed of upload is not fantastically critical, it all sits on a recenty refurbed PC from the pile and can chunter away in the corner at its own pace as it services a few hundred nodes as well.
