Introduce yourself

Hi,

I’d heard about Safe 6 years ago and thought it sounded really interesting but got too busy with work to do anything else.

I’m still trying to work out how I can contribute. I’m not a programmer (I’m barely a scripter), blockchain expert, economist or anything else you might need. I also don’t have any assets for staking with and I hear that is necessary to run a node.

What I do for a living is run Linux, Storage, Network and Cloud infrastructure for a small company. I’ve managed to build a career by not being a real expert in anything and being a bit of a ‘jack of all trades’. I spend my time learning systems, reading documentation, working things out when the instructions aren’t adequate then documenting things for the next person to use. I’ve somehow ended up running a small team of people who do most of the work just because there was no one else available and I knew the history of how our company uses the technologies.

I like acquiring 2nd hand equipment and putting it to productive use so I have a bit more hardware at my disposal than most people.

I run a Bitcoin full node, an Ethereum node, a Storj node, I’m trying to get started with Iagon (although that also needs something to stake with) and I’m looking at a couple of other things to run with the hardware I have. Safe looks the most interesting and far reaching though so I really want to help.

Howdy there folks. I am personally from the planet Earth and have been colonizing with my fellow Earthlings for about 4 centuries. I have pursued so many jobs and careers and opportunities that I thought were going to be an amazing, god sent, mind blowing gift that’s going to get me where I need to go & where I want to go. However, it all fell because I was so unhappy at every single factory I worked at and especially at every fast food restaurant that I ever worked at. I am so blessed to have finally found what one person described as, “The Missing Link.” That’s just it though, nothing out there is sustainable, efficient, actually healthy, productive. Factories are counter-productive due to the pollution issue. Make a car for human, what happens when humans are here anymore? These centralized corporations are killing everyone and ending everyone’s beautiful creations too soon for the benefit of themselves and the two other butt kissers. That’s why I have been so amazingly dumbfounded by this life-altering thought that’s going to change the world sooner than we all think, thank God. I’m very excited for this opportunity because Ive attempted to join the Filecoin Community and Storj Community. I did actually join a community and invested a little. I forgot which one though because the plan was to access it later when it became more established and adopted. I will find it though. I love the incentive this has put into place. The one password blockchain encrypted tech is absolutely a relief. Not having a blockchain is a great construct that I think is going to benefit this community for years and decades and centuries to come! I have been following MaidSafeCoin for over a year now on Crypto[dot]com and know this is going to be amazing to be a part of. Thank you for this beautiful chance to finally become something.

Hi, *

I’m a long-live front- and back-end developer. Currently looking for something interesting in the blockchain world. I’m not proficient in Rust, but I currently trying to get learned. My plan is to get involved in the community somehow. Maybe as a tester/farmer/developer/etc
Really impressed by the Safe network white paper. Some days ago I thought about something similar.
My first question, (maybe need to create a separate post?) do you have plans to provide database-like storage over the Safe?
Yes, I’ve read An Overview of Data Types on the SAFE Network | by MaidSafe | safenetwork | Medium article. It’s great, but I think Safe there needs to have Modifieable data (for the database chards) in the published zone? Without it will be impossible (IMO) to develop and maintains CMS or similar systems for all SN participants. WDYT?

cheers, Oleg

Hi all! I’m Rabinovitch from Russia (at this moment). I’m involved in crypto mining and cryptoindustry since summer 2013, and before that, I missed the appearance of Bitcoin, not paying proper attention and not estimating the significance of this project. Now I would write to you from my own island somewhere in Oceania as a form of entertainment. Or I wouldn’t write…

Romantic youth is long gone, and I came here in search of a project that would give me the opportunity to make good money. Forgive me if my attitude is too repugnant to the spirit of your community. I am ready to allocate relatively substantial computing power and disk space to the project, but only if it is properly stimulated.
I work full-time as someone like devops - I manage filecoin miners, look for profitable projects, participate in test networks on my own behalf and on behalf of my employer.
That’s it. :tipping_hand_man:

I am Daniel Hazelton Waters. I created Daniel Ray Waters Hazelton Ortiz Limited Liability Compony in Washington State USA.
Back some time ago I had a different account that was suspended because I didn’t do things rightfully such as my obsessions with anagrams and such but I am much now.
Maidsafe Holochain and Nillion Nil Message Compute are pillars of future mind!!!….
The suspended account time out would be over now but I lost connection with old details!

Hey there my name is David. I’ve been here a long time and never introduced myself and thought why not finally. All I want is for the Internet to be load balanced, resources managed efficiently and blazing fast speeds because servers aren’t hogging up all the damn bandwidth!

My name is Pascale. I live in Belgium and work as a psychologist in palliative home care. I’m probably a bit of an outcast here, but I’ve been following the project and this forum for 7 to 8 years now (and only recently created an account).
The amazing/positive intentions, the integrity of the team, the perseverance, the community’s drive, the enormous potential are things that attract me here.
I hold MAID from sort of a dream/wish of my own. If this ever yields a lot, I want to invest in a personal project, hopefully to make the world a little better. It will definitely have something to do with consciousness growth and human rights.
Like everyone here, I’m eagerly awaiting this new autonomous internet, created by MaidSafe. And I eventually want to launch my own creation/project into the world. So, I’m really looking forward to what the coming year(s) holds.

WHOOOOOT!!! So very excited to be here and thrilled to meet (at least the first 387) you all!
My name is Terry and I hail from the US.
I would love to greet you all in your native languages, it’s a beautiful thing to witness such a coming-together of people from disparate regions with wildly different stories, cultures, customs and languages; all here in support of this amazing thing. I am truly humbled and stand in awe at the advent of this nearly indescribable phenomenon.
For reference, I was here when telephones were pieces of equipment on a table or attached to a wall; when that 20’ stretchy cord was a god-send; when you had to go home or find a phone booth and put coins in it to call someone and long distance was “expensive.” I remember the Apple IIe in my 6th grade classroom was cutting edge stuff, my teacher so progressive to be riding that wave of the future. Then came the Commodore 64 and Atari 800, for the rich folks the 800 XL. And I remember dial-up and Netscape and the innocent years of the fledgling internet.
I’m here cuz that infant webling grew into an absolute monster, and like so many of you I’m keen to be part of the change. I’ve been parsing microsoft for years now. The last vestige is the hard drive from my 18 yo Dell laptop that ran XP right up to the very end. That 160 Gig HD is now peripheral to one of my RPi4 rigs, the one with Ubuntu and a MATE desktop (suggested by DedoiMedo if anyone knows of him.) The other Pi runs the Raspbian 64 bit, but that’s kinda sucky so is going to morph soon.
That pretty well sums up my tech saavy-ness, or lack thereof. I went down the open source rabbit hole with the death of my XP rig; on it’s death bed I set it up to dual boot with Linux Mint and have not looked back. I’ve since gained zero true knowledge and hacked my way through audio/video/internet set up and booting and running from external drives.
Right about the time I got my Pi’s I stumbled upon Inrupt and their Solid Pods and have been waiting and watching. My heart goes out to Sir Tim, I hope they can sort out their issues and find the true vein of what was intended. For the MaidSafe project, I’m pretty sure I’m just about useless unless cheerleading and morale support counts. And verbiosity for sure. Well, I also give amazing hugs. I’m pretty outdoorsy and fascinated with permaculture. Hope to be a good farmer at least.
And while it may not be in line with an introduction, can I just say to DIrvine:
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! And bless you. And bless your team and the community. Thank you for your perseverance, your I/O, your vision, dedication, and mostly thank you for giving us back our Internet. When I read Charles Eisenstein’s book “Sacred Economics” last year it sparked an inferno deep within me; an excitement for the future I hadn’t felt in a long, long time; and it profferred some long-sought after solutions to some long-suffered conditions. It robbed me of my sleep for months actually. MaidSafe is doing the same thing and I couldn’t be happier. It is surely one of the (really big and profoundly impactful) solutions to several (as I see them) major issues plaguing our modern cyber world.
I wish I had more techiness to offer, but what I lack in knowledge and experience I totally make up for with enthusiasm. Whatever I may be able to do please just ask.

I was on the forum a decade ago for a few years. I’m back to hopefully contribute to the network. Permissionless exchange of knowledge appeals to me as it did originally with the Internet itself.

Two days in. I learned about Autonomi after going down a rabbit hole and some exploration on Urbit, followed a developer there over here. I’m a mathematician with some programming background. Wrapping my head around the new architecture being deployed here is creating new neural pathways in my brain. Everything is lighting up. Could we actually free ourselves from the tyranny of the centralized web? Whether or not this is successful, it is and will always be a heroic endeavor. I’d like to be involved, and glad to be here.

I am a mechanical engineer. Been on the safe network for a long time now but this is my first message! Excited to be a part of the Safe Network and eager to see how it develops. I have no software or programming experience so a lot of this is going right over my head but I would love to learn more about it if someone can dumb it down enough for me. Not sure how I can contribute here. Open to ideas.
