I get the same error as you in sender_receiver.rs at line 71: “failed to fill whole buffer”
As this happens on a program that was perfectly working previously, I suppose a regression in a maidsafe crate has been recently added.
I am on Windows, I will test on Ubuntu to see if a I get the same error.
