One app I’d like to see is some sort of “Capture and archive” -app, with which you could save a site, or part of it, into the Autonomi network.

I don’t have competence to do it myself, but I think it might find some users. Some people willing to store what they have seen, some archiving their own sites…

Just an idea, if someone is looking for one.

can be just screenshots saving app in the beginning. Very simple I guess, and I like to archive lot of screenshots. Thoughts?

Screenshots would have an appeal of being small, cheap and fun maybe.

But then again, if it could be a “real” capture like Internet Archive is doing, there would be a possibility to create a standard, which could lead to a better use of the deduplication feature of the network. Anyone doing the same capture than someone before would get it for free. Screencaps would always be slightly different, and would need to be paid for.

I this way, the first app to create a good protocol for capture would have a decent chance to get a dominant position, as it would be cheaper for the end user in the case of the most popular pages. It’s quite likely that someone else has already captured it.

Also, there could form communities around various themes for capturing, and even a race to be the first one to scout a new site / post / publication… When being first, you would need to pay, but you could get fame in return.

Like, the first copy of this forum to the Autonomi network… who’s name it’s going to carry?

Like in the USA, isn’t there a lot of libraries in the name of some rich benefactors?

The “Find out More” button here does not work for me. I could get to the page from another link on that page though.

@happybeing did you enter?

Does ‘backing’ actually give funds you’re locking to the projects, and it’s then refunded from a different pot in 12 months time, or is it just a ‘vote by locking’ tokens that doesn’t directly support those you’re ‘backing’?

From previous postings/events the developers get USDC (?spelling?) not ANT

The voting phase losers I expect will help fund the 1.5 million phase 2 rewards to backers

I have not invested much time trying to grok this but it seems overly complicated.

Are you in @Josh?

Nah, I did not enter anything.

(I’d hope the quality of entrants far exceeds my ability)

Looks like this.

The voting is phase 1 and backing/locking is phase 2

Separate things happen.

Phase 1 you vote with ANT and lose your ANT if project does not succeed and get 1 ANT per vote if project is one of the 12. No mention of locking ANT for this phase

Phase 2 you back one or more of the 12 projects and if project goes live before the set date then you get a share of the 1.5 million ANT. ALL backers get their ANT they locked back. Locking if for 12 months

Hi all,

Will there another impossible futures opportunity who missed the boat?

Asking for a friend.

If it’s successful, yes. That’s what they named it Series #1

No, I prefer to work on my own terms and don’t need the financial incentive/support.

Community support is more than enough, and this way I don’t take up a place so that’s one extra project I’m helping

Currently you had to have submitted but we will likely have other incentives/programs in the future.
