No worries at all, that actually makes a lot of sense, and it’s great to hear it’s already close to a seamless install experience. Getting it onto the app stores sounds very encouraging! Exciting stuff! thanks @zettawatt
…this is also very encouraging! - thanks @happybeing
It really feels like we’re getting close to a point where this could be properly marketed to the masses as something straightforward, innovative and valuable - nice work everyone!
To be clear, on the desktop version of Colony you can search for websites and click to open. It works out of the box. The Android version does not yet work yet but will soon once I spend some time pulling in your dweb updates
My changes won’t be ready for you for a week or so. I’ve pretty much shown it can be done, but need to check the best way and then it’s a big refactor that I’m partway through.
You’ll see an announcement.
Edit: @zettawatt would your LLC be interested in publishing a pure dweb app so folk can install just that? I realise you may want to stay with Colony+dweb so just asking. I’ll aim to make one for FDroid but not going to incorporate, so will need a partner for iPhone (not sure about Android). @riddim same question!
BTW I believe it’s easy to incorporate remotely online in Estonia (I think) but haven’t looked into it.
Yea, that shouldn’t be a problem. If you get all the necessary CI logic in place I can use my keys to sign the binaries and push to the app stores. The more apps the better. When I get everything setup in a few weeks I’ll get with you. Are you going to build an independent front end for dweb?
Because zetta offered help already this isn’t really important info. But just for completion:
Since the company thing seems to be precondition for an app utilizing crypto I will probably create the German equivalent of an llc (does just cost a few euros from what I think I know …) for friends anyway and since I already cooperate on dweb publishing a standalone version wouldn’t be an issue at all
What is the final list of IF projects that finished by the deadline? I haven’t seen that listed anywhere. Any updates on judging? So far its been radio silence from MaidSafe after the deadline.
Maybe we’re waiting for 1-2 projects to finish their first versions. 1-2 weeks, even a month late is irrelevant at this stage.
It would be sadder if they didn’t release anything at all, because really useful things like AntChain could have entered the race and would have been completed on time.
