How can I check my balance of Maidsafe that is stored in BTC address from original IPO

You can use omnichest.info

Thanks. Is it still alright to leave balance in Blockcahin.ifo in BTC address. Just checked omnichest.info and still Maidsafe balance OK.

Another way to check your balance is to give your private key to me and I’ll check for you. All I ask is a fee equivalent to the entirety of your balance! (That was supposed to be funny by the way)

As long as you have the private key, you should be good. You can also use omniwallet.org (works best/only on chrome), on which you can keep and use to send your Maidsafecoins.

I have my private key written down. Thanks you have been a great help.

I never wished I write this question.
But where do I find my private key and how do I send stuff from it?
I did the first ipo. But I cannot find any mails or anything about it.
Did it have another name before?
If I do have my address what would I use to send it.

I have omniwallet but it says:
An address (in your wallet) which you can track its balances but does not have an associated private key. So your wallet can not create any transactions with it. You only view its balances.

If you bought at the IPO, you did this by sending bitcoin from your bitcoin address/wallet to the IPO address.

Your MAID was then sent back to your bitcoin address.

So the private key required is the one for your bitcoin address which you must have had in order you send bitcoin to the IPO.

Hope that helps.

What wallet did you use to send to the ipo?

Different wallets have different ways to extract the pvt key.

I dont recall mails ever being sent about it.

It seems that my wallet on old blockchain.info is broken. And the security code is their old 16 word that was homebrew by blockchain.info , not contain the wallet but the wallet-id and password for blockinfo. This is going to be bad.

Are they open source? Maybe you can run the old version locally

I did find backups that are aes.json encrypted that is says I can use to restore them. But the password in my password manager from the same year does not decrypt the file. I need to do some more digging.

I was reading late last night and found this thread, maybe it’s of some use to you , seems a similar issue.

This comment below appeared to be the most relevant comment as much info in that thread was wrong. Or so this statement said.

“The old recovery mnemonic is not a seed mnemonic. It is a password recovery phrase which is the wallet password in another form. You need both the UUID of your bc.i wallet and that recovery phrase to open your wallet. Please don’t advise the OP to use bip32/39 tools because this is not a deterministic wallet we are talking about. This is the old bc.i wallet with unconnected random private keys.”

I think I´m a happy camper now! I managed to import the aes json backup wallet I had to blockchain.com and it was the correct private key. Thanks everyone.

Now is the question, I just want to make sure it works. Is omniwallet the best place to buy/sell with? (There seems to be only sell orders and I´m feeling too happy/stupid to see what the actual price is there  )

Thanks guys for the help and support

Ps is anyone has a aes json ecrypted wallet then this is the link to use.
