Help with testnets for our new discord community

When the new testnet comes out, our new discord followers will want to help with the testing. It would be a great idea to put any background info on discord now so they will be able to hit the ground running right away.

I already asked Jim about this. I don’t think he wanted the Discord to be too technical.

Yea keep it on here like we always do so people can read and learn from each other. Discord is to fast moving so and advice would be lost for others as it disappears up the thread.

Putting it in the general chat thread is a bad idea. It should go in the news thread or have a thread of its own. :horse_racing:

So you really plan to have testnets on the forum and no official mention of it on discord? That seems a little strange. There’s no better way to hype SAFE on discord than to discuss the progress we are already making on testnets and give some instructions on how to join. :horse_racing:

I think announcements of the testnet would be fine, but I’m not sure how much technical content he wanted on there, in terms of instructions for how to participate and such things.

People are going to want to participate though. Be ready for lots of discord questions when the next testnet comes out.

Yeah, I personally wouldn’t have any objection to a technical channel in there, but it’s not up to me  .

I’m not the one doing the work so I don’t want to be bossy.

Did you find a meme dictionary or phrase book ?

Man, I just started (again) for the eleventeenth time learning Spanish, now I am having to learn next level meme too. Too much all at once, I’ll need to shelve at least one.

I’m just going to send them all to the forum to ask @josh, @aatonnomicc or @southside for help :joy:

Well thats kinda expected but it might be a good idea to be well prepared.

A good FAQ for testnets for both Windows Mac and Linux would be good. There are various initiatives to get the docs updated and in one place which is nice.

Is it worth playing with an AI chatbot to filter/triage the expected hordes?

But as a min we should have dedicated thread(s) on the forum and linked from Discord for n00bs Windows, Mac and Linux - Ask Here First!!!

Yeah, on a more serious note I was considering some simple how to video/s. But not knowing what is planned or happening from the team, I don’t want to waste my time so, taking a wait and see approach.

Good lord I was starting to think the testnet threads were getting quite a bit quiet. Funny feeling the peace and tranquility is about to go right out the window

Yeah won’t be just me bugging you lot now  but Neiks script works a treat and if I can get set up with all your help I’m sure others will be sound :+1:t2:

It is pretty awesome. Just about plug and play.

Yeah maybe the most useful thing we can do is make @aatonnomicc script like butter.
