Forum interface stuck on Dark mode

Is anyone else having problems with the Interface setting for Theme? I’m stuck on Dark mode which isn’t ideal outdoors.

Profile > Preferences > Interface > Theme > Dark or Light

I’ve logged out and in, cleared cache, tried a different browser, tried a different machine.

I’ve tried playing with:-
Make this the default theme on all my devices

It’s hardly the most important thing in the world or this forum but there are a couple of months of summer left!

it’s not a bug - it’s a feature

It’s a conspiracy to keep everyone indoors and focussed on work, app development and testing. If it works I can live with it.

Q. Why do developers prefer dark mode?

A. Light attracts bugs :bug:

I prefer light except in the terminal, though I really need to tweak the colours in this sunny weather.

On a kinda related note, am I the only one seeing nothing but “Earned Nice Reply” badges in my notifications?

Some of them are from years back as well…

I had this too not long ago

Same. The discourse people just wanted you to know how popular you have been

Must have changed something and the forum software re-awarded the badge

in contrast to now - sorry @storage_guy derailing your topic a bit here xD

Just tried it myself and it too remains on dark even when set back to light.

Must be a bug they introduced at some stage.

One day it may just pop back to light mode and I bet it will be when you are reading the forum somewhere like a picture theatre and it lights up the place LOL

did the same 2 seconds ago - I can switch between the 2 different dark mode versions - but light doesn’t make it light

@storage_guy The bug can be bypassed by changing the colour palette to “horizon” with light mode set

Then after saving that, set palette back to theme default and save

And be ready to swear that it is now super bright and way brighter than before

At this point, I’d like to be able to say - sod Discourse, we have Friends, Atlas and other great apps - and we do - but not quite today…

Amazing! Never mind analysis of node traffic and record counts that’s hack of the month right there!

@riddim

That was no criticism of Friends - nor Atlas - but an observation on the current temporary state of the network.

I hope we will soon be able to replace Discourse with our own app(s)

We MUST eat our own dogfood ASAP.

understood it like you meant it - all good - I’m a bit surprised that project decorum didn’t come up with anything yet … given that the reasons for not doing a native forum quickly revealed itself as non-existent …
