Not up to date on Gridcoin, but it used to be just for BOINC. FoldingCoin was for folding@home
Want to join with @anon40790172 in congratulating his team breaking the 2 million mark.
The community team (SAFE network #255524) passed the 2 million marks some days ago and congrats to all in the SAFE network team for passing the 2.5 million marks yesterday.
Both teams are going strong
Someone asked if all work units are worth the same. The answer is no.
Units for CPUs are smaller in computational work and typically in the hundreds to a couple of thousand points
Units for GPUs are much larger and I gather that different GPU are given WU appropriate for the power of the GPU. For instant the Nvidia 1080 gets WUs up to 28K in points.
The points granted are based on the computation required to finish the work unit.
Congrats to the community/network team (SAFE Network #255524) on passing the 3 million mark today.

There has been an update to the folding at hone software. Please update at you convenience since there are some bugs and security issues fixed. From their site
In response to popular demand, we have created an update to the Folding@home software that allows you to prioritize COVID-19 projects. We encourage you to upgrade as the new software includes important bug fixes and security updates. Downloads are available here. Please also join me in thanking the Center for the Science and Engineering of Living Systems (CSELS) at Washington University in St. Louis for funding the development of this software update.
Our top priority for this release was to add the COVID-19 option as quickly as possible. We also took the opportunity to fix many of the issues raised by our volunteers, but did not address those that would have caused significant delays in the release of the new software. To better address important bugs in the future, we’ve organized a team of volunteer developers who are sorting through and prioritizing our issue tracker on GitHub. They are already making huge strides.

Congrats to the community/network team (SAFE Network #255524) on passing the 9 million mark today. Team ranking now 6747.
If anyone wants to help drive the ranking to within the top 1000 teams then feel free to join the community team. Three weeks ago we were like in the top 20,000 teams and today in the top 7000 teams. But also today we have more compute power in our team.
Thank you to all who are folding no matter what team you are in, it is helping to explore potential drugs to help combat the virus.
