Yes, you can expect an announcement from Bux tomorrow.
When at what time? Can you let discord know it is happening and when? There is nothing in the Autonomi News.
“Bux will be making an announcement tomorrow, for now I ask everyone to wait for more directions.” Rusty
We all know this is not “launch” launch, it has been debated now for some time.
But it will be the start of something, network, upload/downloads and such.
We know this isn’t the full “launch” just yet, but we are approaching an exciting milestone. What/when does “launch” mean to you?
You are correct whether this is launch or not has been debated.
Yet it is called launch, how many launches do we get?
I guess there may be reasons not to make a big thing of it but with all the years of blood sweat and tears I fear that “launch” is going to be just another day.
20 years from now will tomorrow be the day that people refer to? Is it the day data becomes permanent, native token?
Is there even a launch day or will it be a blur?
Early Launch = Tomorrow with test tokens, up/download, API available
(also to notice, I still don’t fully understand why tomorrow is called launch and not like early launch, pre launch or similar, I hope it gets explained tomorrow). With only a test token running on the network then it is difficult to understand that it is called launch.)
Initial launch = ERC20 L2 token, up/download, API
Full launch = Native network token, up/download, API
@Josh We could call it a three stage rocket.
Yes that works, so when is the anniversary?
That can be debated for decades to come, as long as it works. The network is not a wife, won’t get mad if we don’t get the anniversary date right.
When did Jesus got born, died, went to heaven, do we have actual date, was it really Christmas? I don’t know man.
As long as it works I could consider real launch in January and full launch when native token is implemented.
I am open to suggestions.
I know me too, just wondering when we celebrate Autonomi turning 1, 2, 3, 4…
It’s a little thing in the grander scheme of things, I am fully aware
For me it’ll be the start of the network with permanent data & token generation event, which is planned for January.
What’s planned for January seems like the true launch to me (ability to store data ‘forever’ with a network token), and then the Native Token going live will be a massive upgrade & realising the originally envisaged ‘Safe Network’.
I look forward to whatever is communicated tomorrow, and very much hope it’s not long before the network starts feeling more tangible.
It has been said a few times now that data has to be wiped before TGE, so this data up to then is temporary and will be wiped since it’ll be a completely new network setup to incorporate the live network token.
Personally being old school and using traditional definitions of alpha, beta, release candidates that in fact we’ve been in alpha, beta starts in hours, and live rolling launch starts in late Jan. But marketing took over and alpha became beta and beta became soft launch or rolling launch (depends on who says it) I will probably gets into “trouble” over saying that, but its due to 5 decades of this stuff. And to me there is no real change to what is being done and needs to be done for Jan launch, just marketing naming to satisfy some sector be it investors, board, partners, or whomever.
Also I cannot see how partners can really be engaged yet to put valuable data onto the network yet since TGE, I’ve been told, demands a complete reset of the network.
A big part of marketing is communication. I can’t rationalise this as good or necessary for marketing, or anything else for that matter.
So I find it embarrassing.
I guess it depends on who writes the history … would you have thought ETH would be called Ethereum Classic at some point and loose the ETH ticker? xD … just because of some hack of something running ON ethereum …
I agree. It could be an ‘all hands on deck’ situation, with the team too busy to engage. None of us want to disrupt that. But from here, this ‘launch’ approach feels confusing and a bit alienating for those of us who’ve supported the project long-term.
If a ‘big bang’ surprise were coming (still possible), the secrecy might make sense. As it stands, though, the lack of communication doesn’t seem to serve either the community or marketing goals. Communication builds trust, and this feels like we’re being herded from one pen to another without knowing if we’re headed for the field or the slaughterhouse.
That said, maybe there’s something planned today that changes this. Hopefully, as TGE approaches in January, there’ll be a shift back toward re-engaging openly with the community.
A legitimate question: Do Apple engineers engage openly with the community? Tesla?
Good question! Apple and Tesla engineers may not engage openly with the community day-to-day, but leading up to a major launch, there’s usually a significant, highly-coordinated build-up that engages and excites their communities. These companies put a lot of effort into creating fanfare around their launches.
I was thinking more about whether they use things such as focus groups to help determine the wishes of their user community, maybe for future product offerings. Do they do that? Better question: Should Autonomi do something like that?
Is there going to be a stages event? I’d like to be around but I also have a busy day. Does anyone know what is going on? Will this be on X?
If I want to let friends and family that have invested know when launch is what do I tell them? Where should I point them?
What is going on with this project? I’m flabbergasted. A launch day with no time for show up for the event. I have friends and family that put money in this and they will miss this “launch” or whatever it is.
I don’t know how to take all this. It seems like a joke. For us it is very serious and could have been a great day to celebrate. Sadly it’s been a fog of confusion with no time for the event. No update on X. The last pinned comment was from March.
No they don’t on internal matters.
Scott Manley does engage with the community but about rocket realted stuff and has often said he will not talk about apple, its policies, or exactly what he is working on
