There is always the kind of human beings who picks up the rock and strolls along then giving up halfway and decides its becoming excess weight for them to handle and carry. Thus the conclusion that dropping the rock right on top of their foot would be the best solution. the number 1 reason of failure is not lack of talent, resources etc. Its the lacking the will or vision to proceed just a tad further. No matter you understand it or not, I made my point regardless of your thoughts or replies.
@prophetix Not when criticized by a competitor with an obvious conflict who by his statements has shown himself to be a hypocrite with an axe to grind. Relative to StorJ, SAFE is a much more significant and difficult project.
Why would a non profit want a bunch of strings attached whiney entreprenuer types to abuse it unless desprate and angling for a way to be rid of their uselessness. This is why agressive crowd sourcing is needed.
ānutjobā So does this mean you are one of those AM radio listening Rushlimbaugh sheep? An entitled biggot maybe?
No that was not my intent. Apparently you like to jump to conclusions.
To me it seems that people in this community (and also some other crypto communities) that hang around from day to day really seem like they have a few screws loose.
Your lead tech officerās language is sarcastic and condescending. I am simply pointing that out.
Perhaps it is a difference between Americans and British⦠maybe it is not but that is the way it comes off to someā¦
No. One of my friends sent me this link to Jimās concerns, and I read Davidās reply which to me appeared condescending and sarcastic at some points.
But I do not like the way some of these projects have taken money from people and then speak to their investors or customers in such a way.
Why are you people always thinking it is about speculators, people out to make a quick buck, or someone just trying to rain on your parade⦠as if there is some big intrigue going on?
Every time someone has brought up anything that is not sunshine and roses, there is a few of you who gang up on people.
Anyway⦠iāll check back in 90 days. Iāve asked my friend to not give me links to this forum so I donāt waste my time here like I clearly did today.
Those who are speculating, negative, and ill informed critics are the only ones that Iāve seen make him upset and thatās after he has already answered respectively and is continually badgered about ālack of progressā. Any hard working individual gets upset when their integrity is attacked especially when it runs deep in their blood. Maybe itās you???
Can you explain why you exclude the fact that Bit Angels and other Mastercoin hodlers bought VAST amounts of MAID at a discount? Considering there hasnāt been liquidity in the mastercoin market since the IPO, any coins converted would be considered a win. They could sell at half this price and still consider it good.
Your post implies intimate knowledge of private transactions. If I were a betting man, Iād gamble that youāre bluffingā¦
We spend time here everyday engaging in new information about the project and you donāt maybe you should be more āinvestedā in something you care about. People are mad at you because youāre insulting and donāt even make an effort on your own to track progress. Instead you show up and demand answers from busy people. Everyone else in their right minds sit back and let the team be because we know that right now is a bad time. We know they have their noses to the grindstone.
Criticism does not undermine or destroy a project. It makes it better. Doubt and negative criticism should strengthen resolve and motivate progress. The way some of these forum regulars talk and try to shout me down I feel like Iāve stumbled into a cult and drawn a mustache on their idol.
Looking at how much new code has been committed to github is not going to help guess the timeline. If it did, then the folks that are telling me to look at the code could give their estimated timelines. Please do, that would at least be constructive. Instead I see personal attacks against me, once again saying that I should read the code myself, but with no estimate at all, and no confidence interval for the estimate. Useless information like comparing me to a barking dog.
The core devs are in the middle of switching all the group node code over to the magic number 32 stuff that D.Irvineās blog post a few months back talked about - the refactoring. Really no one knows except the maidsafe core devs when that is going to be done, and they are refusing to commit to an estimate until that part is done.
The price of MAIDSAFEcoin matters for the dev team. It matters because a big part of how they make millions of dollars from this project, as I hope they intend to do, is by being āmakersā on the maidsafe network. The pre-launch price is what exchanges and entrepreneurs are going to look at when they decide whether to mess with safecoin or not around launch time. It will affect the adoption rate and form a virtuous cycle with the network effect if it goes up.
Hey guy. You came in here posting crazy nonsense about delays leading to return to IPO price. If you had any respect for basic logic, you would have backed that bold statement in your post.
The headline says more about your emotional state than it does about your ability to be reasonableā¦
PS> I donāt expect you to answer my last post to you. So I guess that means I get ALL THE CHIPS!!!
Since I am sicken tired of this crap with the price and all, just to enlighten the fact that I know the exact reason the price rally and the movement that went to 6 cents or whatever the peak it was. So to all of you clueless fools thinking by playing Bitcoin you are now master pro elite market trader⦠well guess what thereās always manipulation in every market.
Stop complaining about the goddamned price, since giving you all a great opportunity to accumulate more at pennies on the dollar is a privilege not a right.
I get that it is hard to still be patient after we were supposed to see something for some time now, it is only natural. Totally understandable, no question about it. Weāre on the internet and it is a good thing to be critical and sceptical about new projects and startups.
What I absolutely donāt get is the attitude and expectation shown by some people. If you invest in a project like maidsafe or a kickstarter campaign, consider your money lost. This is like gambling. If it works out, fantastic, youāre seeing exceptional ROI but this is only possible because it is associated with great risks. You donāt get that with a fortune 500 company and so you should adapt your attitude accordingly. If it doesnāt work out, it was a nice try, a good idea, but too bad. Onto the next thing.
Iām gonna take a wild guess here and say that nobodyās saying theyāre finished by 23rd of april because they donāt know if that is possible and the blowback would be even bigger if they didnāt meet the date. So it is the lesser of two evils to say: āItās done when itās doneā.
Speaking of game development, companies way bigger than maidsafe constantly fail to make the deadline. I mean, look at ******* Rockstar Games with GTA V and how often they postponed the release of the PC version by now. GTA V broke industry sales records and became the fastest-selling entertainment product in history, earning US$800 million in its first day and US$1 billion in its first three days. This is just one example out of many more where this is happening with software development.
And I get why David is getting sarcastic by now when the same accusations are posted over and over again without doing the proper research. I too want it to be released rather sooner than later, but I also see the points that David is making and if you stay informed through this forum (as you should as an concerned investor), then you see that there is a) a change in attitude towards a launch b) hints in the dev updates that it seems to be getting closer every day.
One last thing, of course looking at the github progress wonāt tell you when itās finished but it tells you that a shitload of work is getting done by these people. That alone should enough to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Your topic is open. Everyone got an opportunity to reply to it. You got the opportunity to reply to their replies as well. Donāt understand what your point is.
I agree with you. But there are a lot of questions asked about when Testnet3 or the BETA will go live. The devs responded a couple of times to that by saying itās hard to say when exactly etc. So if people keep asking and asking about it, the answer is not gonna change. I see the same questions come up on the Ethereum Reddit now and than. It got delayed a couple of times as well. In both cases you canāt force a team to come up with a date and a time.
I donāt agree. What matters is that the stuff works like magic. Thatās why the Ethereum folks are launching in a very secure way, being able to ārestartā their blockchain in the case of major errors. This is all not that strange in the crypto 2.0 projects.
So sports mangers should tell the team they will lose
Army commanders tell the squad they are gonna die
Astronauts told they will die in a ball of fire
ā¦
I do feel sorry for your team if this is how you motivate.
Guys I donāt know if you have the funds for this but you might be better off hiring some PR manager to screen your online communications.
I know everyone here thinks he or she (?) is right⦠but the fact is that people that are regulars and also management over-reacting to people like Jim, who actually has a very good reputation (unlike mine of being a dirty rotten scoundrel always on the look out to loot more dragon gold), is not doing this project any good.
Iāve seen this cycle repeated over and over again on here. We all know the definition of insanityā¦
Hire someone capable of giving polite replies to people like Jim (and I), and you wonāt have these massive flame wars. Itās not that expensive you can probably get some āsocial mediaā or āonline communityā analyst to do this.
First step for them is to show empathy with the poster, not attacking him like rabid wolves.
Second step is giving warning to the community members that start these flame wars, for example, had not I read all this (as well as Davidās reply) I wouldnāt have been so irritated to write my opinion:
Itās the internet, full of humans and therefore emotions and even with someone responsible for talking to the community, you still have the regular users who might get emotional. i think this is a slippery slope, because it leads quickly to being deceptive towards the people youāre building this for.
And while I appreciate the sentiment of your post, please walk the talk and donāt quote user saying āmeanā things when youāre calling them insane in the same post. This goes both ways as always.
And for me it started with the attitude of the first post, which to me is quite hostile. This canāt come as a surprise that people might react harsh to a post like this. Please have a look at several other posts in this forum where people asked for ETA and the answers were nice. Because the initial post was nice.
But I guess the fact that this was more about the RIO than the project itself added fuel to the fire. Most people are here because they absolutely would love to see a project like this see the light of the day and they donāt care about RIO. At least thatās my subjective impression.
Only when your criticism bring something new to the table. Otherwise youāre just pointing at the obvious and turning the knife in the wounds a bit more. Everyone is well aware of the situation. Everyone is eager to try out testnet3. And most everyone knows that the dev at MaidSafe work their asses off to pull it off.
