David no longer posts here and I can hardly blame him, given some of the ill-informed and spiteful guff that has been flung around the past few months.
Part of this is down to some folk taking a throwaway remark and constructing elaborate conspiracy theories around their misconceptions.
David has posted quite a bit on Discord and much of it explains recent decisions and his thinking behind them. We would all do well to review this to help with our understanding of where we are, how we got here and where we are going.
To assist with this myself and Claude put together a wee bit of python that has trawled the #general-support, #general-chat and #bug-reports channels on Discord and extracted all posts by dirvine and replies to them since the arbitrary date of 17th April 2025.

Maybe you could use the AntChain principle and link the weekly updates in a chain pointing to the previous updates, so if evil has a moment of rise and tries to rewrite history, we can preserve the truth of David’s words?
I will probably stick the scripts up on github, so anyone can submit a PR to extract/display the info as they wish.
This can be trivially changed to grab all posts by any specific user, timeframe etc etc.
I would especially welcome PRs to improve the formatting.
If the current regulatory environment makes it impossible for a company like MaidSafe to launch a privacy focused anonymous native token, it would be better to move into a different regulatory environment, or work around it, or at least coherently talk about it instead of depicting the people who ask as bitching crybabies who dropped from the sky to create hurdles for the team to focus on the “core” and make it harder for the wee lassie in Africa to finally have a safe access to a couple of slowass apps
It’s not like, over the years, many people didn’t ask if David expects the big bro to sit and wait for a fully decentralized anonymous data and private token powered network to simply launch, and it’s not like us-against-them mr. Paranoia wasn’t aware of it, hence I’m coming to a conclusion David knew there would be no anonymous private native token coded by MaidSafe – for years. And while people who wondered how or where is this going to be finalized were assured by “believers” the MaidSfe are smart and surely have a plan, the plan was not to do it
But they’re smart not to address it in a coherent, honest fashion. Which results in the mess David tries to avoid, once again blaming others.
A normal person would just cut their losses and leave, if they felt this way. Poisoning the well through bitterness doesn’t help anyone. Probably not even yourself.
Meanwhile, others are building out better, faster, more stable, more useful apps. Others are supporting the team and the project in creative ways as best they can. That’s how to improve the situation.
It definitely does help myself knowing someone, anyone, pointed out the native token fiasco is on David, MaidSafe, and no-one else.
I see things differently from you on almost every level and regularly disagree with you on most topics non-technical. I also find your preemptively negative stand on negativity unhealthy, lol.
Why don’t people like you challenge David on his bitterness towards people who care about the native token? Like, do you even recognize the cause-effect pattern?
Sadly, I think you do, and I think you take the coward, popular, lazy way out, looking for salvage in building apps no-one will use anyway until eth/arbitrum ant are ditched to interact with the network. I think even you know I’m not only right, but also in the right.
Still baffles me that people stick around when all they do is slate David and Autonomi I’ve bought some s#itcoins in my time that I just let rot in a wallet. I don’t visit those projects channels daily and hate on the project or the people who still believe in it, it’s just insane
What would folks like to see in this tool?
Analyse the contributions of any arbitrary member across all available channels on the Autonomi Discord guild?
Ability to search the entire chat history for specific keywords?
Check only the newest posts… Last month, last week, last 2 days?
How up to date does this have to be? update every week, 3 days, 24 hours, 12 hours?
What do I really want this tool to do?
Are there no other more generalised and capable Discord search tools already written?
Will I bugger up a promising wee tool by inviting feature creep?
Better to work on the original premise - make Davids Discord thoughts more accessible and improve the formatting
You’ve done a great job, it’s a very interesting project! Did you draw any conclusions from David’s statements, or did you, for example, feed DeepSeek with these posts and ask for conclusions on a specific topic?
I’m working on making them available as a weekly update and an archive since some date TBD.
Download from the network as json to run through the AI tools of your choice.
Thats for later …
it will be interesting to see how my private conclusions match up against the AI generated
You’re not baffled, just dishonest. Most people’s minds here don’t need to be changed. If you put most zealots here on a lie detector and ask them “you think thegreattit is right?”, they blurt out their cowardly “no” and the poor machine runs out of ink.
If you count how many people here truly disagree with me, you’re at the number of your functioning brain cells.
None of us think you are right about anything to honest I don’t think most people even read your posts anymore. As the content of them are all pretty similar.
