Do you guys sleep? I feel like I missed a lot here. On the scratchpad forks, yes, the last fix from Anselme fixed the issue for me. I never saw this issue until the last round of updates where the network went flaky. Here is what I suspect is happening: I intend to make an update to an existing scratchpad, so I download it to get the current counter value, let’s call this version A I increment the counter, and push the updated scratchpad to the network, now version B I repeat this oper…

Is it possible to design the token such that no bugs in a wallet can ever lose tokens/transactions nor leave tokens/transactions in a faulty state?

Something very user friendly about Metamask is that I can delete accounts and basically everything, then restore it all just using seed phrase + clicking add new account. When I show that to normal people they’re relieved by that.

It’s not exactly a design of token, but mostly wallet implementation, because wallet data is saved to Autonomi only. One idea could be duplicate the storage locally.

In Metamask you also can lose funds if you loose your passphrase/password/privkeys. What is different in ACT is, that you need to save more data in order to access the funds – in addition to Secret Key you also have to remember unspent inputs, and that’s what my wallet lost.

This project is about utilizing technology meant for native token, but for a whole family of tokens.

One of them could become the native token, but for that it would need modification of node software for nodes to accept it as a payment for data storage, and perhaps validate it server(node)-side which would bring better speed and security.

Beyond basics, instead of going native, we choose to explore bridging and exchanging, because modification of node software would require full support and close collaboration with MaidSafe, and they are focused on other areas now. An alternative would be doing that without them, but this would mean reinventing a wheel and loosing much of the know-how, also putting a network to danger of forking.

@loziniak, having token specific public IDs is good in that it would prevents spam of junk tokens (like on ERC20 addresses). Is there any potential in the future to have a public key that can receive a variety of tokens if that were preferred in some cases?
