Community Faucet Live!

Welcome one and all to the Community Faucet!

This faucet dispenses both ANT and ETH tokens to enable testing of projects, tools and API’s that interact with the Autonomi Network.

There are a few steps to receive your funds that will be outlined in the first reply.

This is a community supported faucet, ANT/ETH/EMAID donations can be made to the following Vault Wallet 0x00455d78f850b0358E8cea5be24d415E01E107CF

Before proceeding, be aware that there will be badges that may some day be issued based on activity for wallets that get a drip. One of the badges is for returning left over funds back to the Vault Wallet after you’ve practiced with a few transactions. When this feature goes live, this paragraph will be replaced with a list of badges.

The Faucet URL is: https://ant.xd7.org

Welcome to testing!

Entered mixed case account address and forum username, received challenge: e838bd4b6e9ab42871613bc46700e569. (I’d maybe explain a bit what to do with the challenge IMHO)

Entered link to this reply, Community Faucet Live! - #3 by born2build, into Forum Post Link field, submitted Confirm Forum Post, “said Missing Data from form.”

Seems I need to click the submit wallet button. I’ll leave that step for the next tester. Great project!

I was still posting instructions, does what I posted get your started? I will eventually create screen shots and such.

I’d probably move the connect wallet button up above the forum post link input, since confirm forum post is the final step AIUI.

Ok, I moved the connect wallet button to above the wallet field as if the button is inside the form element, it submits the form without any other data.

How’s that?

It just doesn’t flow to me. Like in the first block of instructions it has 3 steps, member name, captcha, and generate. So why is the wallet address at the top? IMHO I’d make the instructions, UI, and logic all flow in lockstep.

Fixed. The UI layout limitations are my lack of skills, so the pattern is to pointlessly have the user put their wallet address on the first pass so it’s less confusing.

Seems like a good start.

Could we get a badge for those who have used their drips to upload (say) 10 or more public files AND published them on the wiki at Community Public File Directory?

And maybe even a badge for those that got a drip and did nothing with it ? :smiling_imp:

These are the badges I’m currently planning on:

  • New wallet
  • Old Wallet
  • Cold Wallet (received drip but no activity in first 30 days)
  • 1st upload
  • 2nd upload
  • 3rd upload (etc over first 30 days)
  • Theft (funds swept to another wallet)
  • Spare Change (returning funds too small to make an upload back to the faucet)
  • Grower (adds funds to own wallet after receiving a drip)
  • Patron (donates more in proceeds to faucet than dripped)
    [ Added entries below ]
  • Sepolia (pre live network drips)
  • Early bird (pre siphon event wallets)
  • Double/Triple dipper (after event horizon resets)
  • Double/Triple theft

It’s not so simple to match a wallet with an entry in the wiki as I can’t see who made edits yet, I don’t want to automatically test the downloads as I’m afraid of getting a big file and it’s simple to add any random string as an ‘upload’, but if I figure all that out, i’ll add:

  • Lister (publishes 10 uploads)

Oh, there is one other issue, I’m not sure how/where to display the badges for individuals. My current plan is to run a report (once a day or maybe more frequently) that collects new data and then updates a report page with total number of wallets that have each badge.

Ok, I figured out how to see who edits the wiki, but I still don’t think I have a Lister solution yet because I don’t know how to verify an upload without downloading it.

Are you having a problem with your drip?

We have the answer

The community can do the verification.
I’d much rather see people put entries with description of the file so we know what it is at least, than people not do it

ok, I’ll work out how to parse the returned edit data to see additions and deletions by authors. I’ll have to keep a database of the files to detect when one is removed and remove badges. I’ll need to detect when member A removes a file posted by member B to keep the badges straight.
