With files that don’t use the Merkle tree, the upload works, but with a slightly large file, I always get an error.

And as always, whilst the cost in ANT is very low, the fees are not so low.
A system in which those doing the work are paid a fraction of what the intermediary earns is fundamentally flawed.

Much as I like to take your post and destroy it line by line with an accompanying cruel gratuitous insultt, I have to admit you are entirely correct

However we are getting a network that does what no other network has ever before and these little wrinkles will eventually get ironed out.
We are going back to first principles, running on spare kit, hdd space, otherwise unsed CPU cycles. The days of folk running 1000s of nodes ( I was one myself) and making a skin off the emissions is well and truly over. It was only ever a temporary abberation anyway.
So really you are NOT doing the work to any great extent, your otherwise underutilised kit is simply working more efficiently - as David and the team intended all along…

Suggestions for a Native Token that will not involve David getting dragged off by Israeli/Yank bankers for daring to introduce a privacy coin are vey much welcomed. But much thought has gone into this and so far nobody has come up with a scenario in which we can have a Native Token AND our founder and dev team remaining at liberty.

Don’t shout at the team, turn your anger on the banker parasites and their whole corrupt capitalist worldview.
This is why it is so important that Russia,Iran and China win and defeat the parasites of Western “civillisation” . cos if they don’t just forget all about any “Native Token”. THe fascism of a dying empire is still dangerous and will only become more acute as rhwy realise the rest of the world will choose public finance rather than private greed for the self-chosen elites.

On the contrary, I wasn’t able to upload anything this week until I upgraded to the new 0.70.
Keeping in mind I was using sub-1MB files to test so far.

To second your comments on the gas fees however, it concerning how much ETH was required for a couple 100KB files.
Why did it feel cheaper last summer, am I misremembering that? 0.O

Unfortunately very small files will be the least cost efficient, especially once Merkle payments are working.

This is because, if I understand it correctly, a 3kb file will need the same number of ETH (Arbitrum) transactions as a 1mb file, so that overhead per kb is huge on tiny files relative to the a tiny ANT cost. On larger files, the ANT cost will become more significant vs the ETH, so it’ll be more cost effective.

Perhaps in time, an x0x app working with some of your agents could be batching up small stuff you want to upload to Autonomi eventually, temporarily serving it to anyone who needs it before a permanent upload to Autonomi is possible in a more cost-effective manner.

Thats a good point, chat becomes expensive. :frowning:

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense.

I did wonder if we would be able to upload batches of smaller files (thinking a series of photos that encompass an album). How easy all this is to do will be key to driving adoption.
