On Discord Autonomi News channel, Jim announced plans for an Autonomi DAO:

We’re Finalising, and Formalising the Autonomi DAO

Want to have even more clout for your $ANT? The DAO will:

  • Give you direct involvement in the evolution of the eco-system
  • Reward builders for their apps and their efforts
  • And … reward those who believe in and support them too!

This seems like an interesting new development. I looking forward to hearing more, and also hear others thoughts on this.

I thought it’s worth starting a thread so that people who aren’t on Discord can be made aware of the announcement, and so people can discuss it.

It seems like a good idea to add some kind of governance to the system; given it’s decentralised, it’ll be important to have some way for stakeholders to influence the direction of the network.

Rewarding builders for apps and efforts also sounds good!

Sounds interesting. Thanks for including the forum in the news.

I wonder if that’s implying a kind of proof-of-stake system where we can lock up (HEX style) our ANT for varying spans of time and that gives us votes towards decisions that are made?

Not from the talk David has made. Level playing field and all that. Staking always brings with it the whales dominating. Just look at the current network and the whales adding more and more resources as they gobble up the emissions. Its currently a race to the top. Yea staking would be a bad thing

Beta is over and they’re still using Discord as the main platform to share Autonomi updates.
