Atlas - Things on Autonomi

Voting was a bit of a train wreck.. working much better now and you lead the charge with “most popular content”

@Southside’s old profile pic being second tells me we need new unique content

Old or new, quality will always show

Nah - we just need more folk voting.

My wife is not hiding her displeasure in me not focusing on preparing home things for our imminent (in her opinion) departure so the only bit of work I’ll likely get done for now until after is a (darker) theme. Not really dark cause.. more work than I have time for. I THINK, it is suitably usable for now though.

But of course 7 million things can be done. I’ll start on those if we break the 10 user milestone

I’m in charge of packing my laptop when we go anywhere. Everything else is optional :joy:

I’m trying to open Atlas via Awesome sites, but Atlas is just stuck loading. Have been a few minutes now. How long would it normally take?

Dweb I have the latest version, compiled myself, Ubuntu:

The first time will taker longer, depends on your connection. Not long at all for me.

Minutes sounds a bit much though.

It does progress though…

@happybeing Do I still need to export SECRET_KEY in order to have all dweb stuff usable? Or is it enough when I give it my wallet password when it asks for it?

I mean I do have funds in my wallet, why does Atlas ask about it?

Anyway, need to got to sleep very soon.

That should be enough. If it doesn’t complete, it would help to see the output of dweb serve.

Tried to DM to you, but it is so big that it jammed the page.
(An error occurred: Body is limited to 35000 characters; you entered 184825.)

Does is matter that I opened several Awesome sites simultaneously to different tabs?

I just tried with a empty wallet again, it is the only way I have had this issue, thats why for now I ask to check your wallet.

It takes forever to load for me too on a empty wallet,

At the very top of dweb serve do you see funds?

It will slow things down, but I do that too so it will work, but best not to do it the first time you run a new app like Atlas.

Websites don’t do much but apps like Atlas are active continually so will be affected much more by that.

I do. (Not going to post the address here.)

I closed Friends and Scratchchat. And reloaded Atlas. Does reloading make any sense? Meaning F5.

But now i really need to go to sleep, early morning tomorrow. Thanks and good night!

I will add a warning about that to the awesome website, so this again is very useful. :folded_hands:

Still not working. I updated and restarted my Ubuntu. After that I did the following:

  1. Exported secret key in terminal.
  2. Dweb serve in the same window

Logs below, wallet details omitted, but there was funds:

Then, in another terminal window:

toivo@toivo-HP-ProBook-450-G5:~$ dweb open awesome
DEBUG url: http://127.0.0.1:5537/dweb-open/v/awesome/

This opened my browser, which had Atlas tab open. I closed it in a second. Then Awesome opened. I clicked Atlas, not to a new tab, but leading from Awesome to Atlas. Below you find a screencap of the result:

Also, this billboard that was mentioned in Terminal, was not shown in Awesome. I’m not sure if it would have been meant to?

Hmm… Seems to be kinda working. I managed to add folks to follow, and that led me to getting many links in the Browse -tab.

But I don’t seem to get an Atlas address:

And when I tried to watch the Night of the living dead, I got an error:

So @Josh, one issue is that if I fail to “initialize” Atlas, (whatever that includes), it leaves me with an impression, that I cannot even Browse anything.

There was Browse tab open, which seemed to be jammed. It said it was “loading links from Autonomi”, but it seems it was not. Apparently all that was needed for that to happen, was to follow some folks. Maybe user could be informed in the app, that that is the way?

Nearly there night of the living dead won’t stream in atlas as dweb does not have streaming yet.

So it would need to download the full 3gb to play if it can manage to play at all.

Is that why I’m struggling with the longer MP3’s?

Thanks for your perseverance.

Yes some guidance there will be good.

I am a bit swamped right now at work sorry. May have time this afternoon.

You not getting a address though still has me thinking its a balance issue .
