Exactly, and then there will be a flood of clear web users asking why is the link not working and how to access the content, which let’s us all jump into the replies and explain how to get on the network.
Is that what you expect to happen? As soon as the link fails almost everyone will move on and not share it further.
In practice, this means that it will never go viral.
What I mean is, that if a link goes viral that means a lot of people are using and potentially sharing that link around the clearnet. When that link eventually goes down (could be days, weeks or years) people will comment underneath asking how to get access to that content, which might not be available anywhere outside of Autonomi. Then we can comment under there with instructions on how to access the content, thus bringing more and more people into our ecosystem.
It’s worth noting, that scaling is linear too. You can add as many AntTP instances as needed, either through simple DNS round robin or via load balancers, etc.
There is no instance specific state, so any AntTP can serve it.
Indeed, when there is more traffic requesting the same data, it gets cached heavily. This improves scalability further and actually takes pressure off the network.
I’m also working on a change to allow the exact same URLs to be used in proxy mode, as gateway mode. They will ignore the domain name and deliver the content directly. I have it working with http and should soon have it working with https too.
