ANT Token - Price & Trading topic

From my tiny part of the network, I have earned with both 30 nodes, and now with 500 nodes from a simple home network. Autonomi is already working for a small operator like me. And honestly at such a low cost. I’m running on a $200 refurbished HP workstation. From my perspective it feels fair. The future for Autonomi looks bright!

Probably the algorithm favors you because you ran nodes from the beginning, because many people complain that they don’t have that luck:

I’m sure you say this as a joke, but in the spirit of “first” I note that the prediction of decentralization at the level of networks is mine. :dragon:

People want to have their own corner in the world, people form communities, communities create networks according to their own rules.

is this really worth your time and energy? …

not nullified at all … there’s a dev network coming where apps can be used and further developed/built upon while the issues of the big network can be resolved in parallel …

I don’t like to see ANT being “invested” like this either; but dwarfing proper hard work done by devs is very wrong imho too

@Southside please , dont fight here. nothing nullified

Our Korean friends have maintained the most active non-English speaking Autonomi community for years. They deserve respect! :thankyou: @KafkaLee and @bridge !

It’s the least they can do. :flexed_biceps:

Actually, my Korean though shakey translates it as “what a handsome fellow” and he writes code too!

So how do we find out if @bridge has got anything like the amount of storage required to support his claimed 20,000 nodes.
Anyone like to join me in a bet that he does NOT have 35Gb x 20k free and allocated to all these nodes in his “portfolio”?

A LOT is being nullified due to the intransigence and greed of @bridge and creatures like him
All of the community app development work is nullified because the network is crippled - deliberately while the whales insist on using old versions of antnode.

So there is PLENTY to fight about.
Nothing personal, @KafkaLee I have always found you friendly and easy to get on with.

not sure why the need for a civil war @bridge has 20k node by his own admission that’s a drop in the ocean with the network standing at around 25 million nodes last time i checked.

20k nodes is 0.08% of the network

currently im running 1k nodes on a raid 0 4tb set up at home if i reserved the full 32gb for each node id only have 125 nodes running

Why is there resistance to upgrading?

iv missed a good bit of this conversation but why would someone not upgrade in a timely fashion as if it causes the network to fail they have only succeeded in screwing there own investment over.

When the whales came to town, my main wish was that they had their upgrade ability on par with their financial ability.

The 2 are not necessarily the same.

My 9 year old can start a million nodes, less confident in the management part.

dear super whale if you would like to hire someone to assist with your upgrade schedule drop me a DM

I bet there is nothing in place. You may regret that offer.

Because the emissions continue to pay out,
They have more nodes than anyone else so they grab the majority of the earnings.
Upgrading their nodes will mean that uploads begin to work better and more data will have to be stored. The majority of that burden will fall on the whales who while they may have the CPUs, RAM and bandwidth to dominate, there is no way they have the storage to go along with it.

Therefore there is no incentive to upgrade, their emissions keep coming in and nobody can earn by storing chunks cos the network is too busy passing error msgs to each other.

The whales have no interest in the network as a concept, its simply something to put the datacentre capacity they cant otherwise sell to work and defray their fixed costs.
$0.30 or $0.15/ANT means little to them they are earning SOMETHING and that’s all that matters.

Makes perfect sense.
