<insert joke about being married>

Not being married means you don’t have to be so careful about where you insert.

Can we have a show of hands about whether we can take the tone of this thread even lower?

Let’s not. The network has a bright future. We just need to be patient. (and coding day and night as I am)

A thoroughly tested network that does not make as-yet unproven claims does indeed have a bright future

Is there a link to node volume? Apologies if missed, so many posts to read!

https://network-size.autonomi.space/ is what I use, ran by @riddim IIRC.

It would seem this is being allowed to continue to stress one parameter and that is intraoperative nature of the network and ability to do quoting (ie nodes working right and contactable and assumed to be able to store)

The team I am sure are at least as smart as we are (more so I expect and more experienced in the project) and can see this issue and are working on the next step or know the next step. Maybe 5 million or 10 million is the target before changing things

I don’t know but guessing and taking David’s works about wanting to see a very large network as part of the plans

With an extract of logs I can tell you that. Need some with say 10,000 nodes to run a single command line to extract the needed entries (it also cuts out the unneeded text). and then upload the extract somewhere, maybe encrypted if public.

If you want to help you can DM me. Desire people running linux and storing logs and have over 2,000 nodes. Zip files can be uploaded in the forum so no need to worry about where to send it.

I did it with 750 of my nodes and got some results but just not enough.

Very true.

I would pay good money to see / hear the behind the scenes discussions on potential strategies and ways forward. I expect the depth and knowledge in those chats would make our (at least my) throwing around of ideas in here look pretty silly

Great… https://www.bitmart.com/trade/en-US?symbol=ANT_USDT now shows us below $0.20
When will somebody say enough is enough, end the RandomRewards and stop feeding the parasite?

Some (not I) might say the same of capital speculators. At least the ā€œparasitesā€ are providing the infrastructure for the network to exist in the first place.

THere is ZERO point in 3m useless nodes that cannot store anything like their claimed petabytes and that have not been tested ubder any realistic load.

Is that the infrastructure you are so keen on?
And yes I DO say the same of capital speculators - hang them high - or slowly - or both.

And yet the man spearheading the project for 18 years says otherwise. I’ll take him at his word. Respectfully, you don’t even program, how can you feel comfortable speaking so matter of factly?

Takes a lot more than just coders to build a project.
And just where did @dirvine say this?

So true, it also needs people deciding the icon should be cornflower blue.

Aye very good, ya elitist pr1ck.
Also you will note above that @dirvine wants various large groups competing. We don’t have that at all. @neo has shown it is one single individual.

As I said before, kudos to those who wrote the code that could scale to 3m nodes. I’ll give far greater kudos when I see it can handle 3m properly functioning nodes.

Cos you are only fooling yourself if you think this is anywhere near the finished article. Yes, it may be important to prove it can scale. It is also important not to piss away the assets of the company on one parasite just so we can say ā€œBut it scaled to 3m nodesā€.

As can be seen above, the team have learned from this experiment and have plenty to work on. Is that any reason to keep throwing away all these ANTs to one greedy whale?
RandomRewards need seriously curtailed NOW.

So you concede and realize you were wrong, good. Today was a growth opportunity for you you’ll no doubt cherish.

Im not wrong at all.
I’m saying the scaling thing has been done, its costing us money, why continue throwing money at when the team have learned all they need to know for now?

Away and patronise someone else, I dont need your faux-superior sh1te.

10M nodes in under two weeks. :confetti_ball:

Means the square root of sod-all if we can’t upload.

But if you can upload, it’s amazing, right?

The team is working on a fix. Soon we should have both.
